Anti depressants and drugs like that are good at helping relieve the symptoms but not the cause, in the end therapy like CBD, counselling and well being techniques like meditation are what most people need in their lives. I'm only been into this stuff properly for about 4 months but I'm already feeling a vast improvement in my daily wellbeing.
Obviously more serious mental health issues can't just be solved this way but the majority of people suffer from low depression and anxiety.
