Anxiety

Turning to some form of drug to “rid” ourselves of anxiety isn’t ridding at all. It is stunting. Alcohol, marijuana, smoking, vaping, drugs, etc are many things people turn to to “deal” with anxiety. Let’s compare having anxiety to going on a trip. The goal of the trip is to get to a certain destination and let’s compare that destination to less or no anxiety. In order to make it to our destination we have to get closer to it, mature to it if you will. If we turn to some form of drug to manage anxiety we are robbing ourselves from maturing as adults. We are not mentally learning the lessons we need to from the things in our life so we can grow and mature into better adults. We then become stagnant, not moving towards our destination and maybe even sometimes moving further away from it. Drugs do not cure or take anxiety away, they mask it , but underneath that mask it is steadily growing and becoming a monster. Our anxiety tells us and reminds us that there are lessons that we need to learn and things we need to deal with in order to mature and grow as human beings. Anxiety is a symptom of lacking faith and trust for our purpose in this life.
