Here is a quick question I pose to some of my photography friends. After being smacked ...

... in the face with ad’s for the past few weeks on Facebook for this light box kit shown here in the lovely promotional photo, I finally broke and ordered one. I figured we can use this at our shop Conquest Comics for showcasing all the product that comes out on a weekly basis. Just figured it would look a bit more professional and attractive. So my question is a simple one. What’s your thoughts on using one of these for that simple task? it looks as though this particular one which is from “The Flashery”, comes with 2 LED light strips that charge by USB. I opted for the largest size which is about 15” x 15”. I should be able to get most things like comics, Pops, action figures, and smaller statues all taken care of with this badboy. Any advice or feedback from those experienced with these would be much appreciated. Thanks!!! Now just waiting patiently for it to arrive so I can start messin around with it!

I'll be waiting to see what you come up with the box, I'm curious how well it works for product photography.

I’m hoping it’ll just pop a bit more. We probably should have made this change a while back.

It does make for a "professional" look if you have to photograph a lot of small objects all the time.

Which we do weekly...so this might be perfect!!!

I have two lightboxes that I use - one is large (a couple feet by a couple feet) and the other is tiny, about 10 inches by 10 inches. They're both a lot of fun and great for the "infinite background" for items. I think you'll have a great time with it.

Yeah I’m definitely looking forward to it. Do you have a photo you can share with something you used the light box for?

Sure! Here are a couple pictures I just threw together today (literally, after reading this post)

(Don't mind the dust on this second one - I apparently need to break out the swiffer)

Here is the set up that I use:

Yeah...see? Even this looks better than the sloppy backgrounds we would normally use. I’m sold!

Don’t stress the dust. Lol. My shit is covered with it.

It will be too small for your comic books, but it should work just fine for small action figures and other things like that. There really isn't much for me to go off of from that image since it isn't a real representation of the product, but more of a photoshopped image of a hand holding a phone with another image photoshopped onto the phone and the a clip art image of the dude on the motorcycle photoshopped into the light box. Light boxes like this can make it easy to take pictures of small things and give nice consistent lighting.

Yeah? That’ll suck if I can’t fit the Comic well.

They have some actual sample photos on their site from customers. They seem to definitely help. Fingers crossed.
