... back to the soviet times of 1982 when it was owned by Mayak Kharkiv, a Soviet football club.
It is located in a very historically rich area, Novo Bavaria.
I was lucky to have stumbled across the stadium.
The legendary, yet small stadium was handed down to Football Club Arsenal Kharkiv around 2004 and was renamed to Arsenal-Bavaria.
At around 2009 it finally was renamed to Gelious Stadium when the Kharkiv Gelious team obtained the field. Although it was their main ground, it later became a training turf for the team when they shifted to a bigger stadium.
The history, epicness and age can be vividly seen in it's original pillars whoch stand strong till date, although are cracking.
It was a sharp reminder of how things that were of the utmost importance loose their flare over time and aren't cared of as much.
The weather was super friendly and if there wouldn't be a 7 foot linear fence then I would have climbed into the field and taken a few free kicks at this historical beauty.
old is gold. thanks to represent this.
