My wife and I experienced afternoon tea at the Savoy in London for the first time ...

... in our lives today. First thought was “This is too much food!” but the second thought was “When can we go back?” 😉

My favorite choice. lovely place to take tea break.

Oh wow! Now thats a true tea party, fancy sandwiches and all, it looks amazing! I have never been out to Tea like this, so extravagant and special feeling I really wish I was there, thanks for sharing!

The look is great!
Love it.
I would love to see more pictures of this location and food :-))))

Sometimes we all just have to live the moment and this was one such moment : )

It is great to see you guys having a good time. :)

Delicious food and healthy drinks .
Enjoy

The table is quite set

Great photo, Eric and a very nice setting, I'm sure you had a great time!

Did you know or notice that the little street in front of the hotel is opposite to the rest of the city and country? It’s the only street in the whole UK where cars are supposed to drive on the right.

Interesting! I didn't notice that. Do you know why that is?

It is believed to be from the times of horse and carriage. The driver could open the door to the passenger without getting out of their seat by reaching out behind them.

Wow ... really a very pleasant afternoon tea ... I see the food dish looks very delicious. Have a nice trip, my friend.

Thank you! I'm feeling pretty pleasantly plump after eating all that food. : )

That looks amazing!

I've never had the afternoon tea there. But I have enjoyed a couple of delightful drinks at the American Bar.

It was so good! I'm sure their cocktails there are pretty amazing. Our Airbnb is close so we may go back.

If you are looking for an interesting place to drink ... The tiki in me would never forgive myself if I didn't recommend the Mahiki or Kanaloa. They are unique to say the least.

Ahh, thank you. We'll have to look them up! Have you heard of the Kahiki? It was a supper club in my hometown of Columbus, OH. They were very well known with the tiki crowd. I have two mugs from the restaurant at home circa 1960's. I worked there as a busboy in high school.

Hrmmmm... I didn't really get into the tiki scene until 2009. It looks like it was a very cool place ...

I bet there would be a lot of folks on http://www.tikiroom.com/tikicentral/bb/ that would be interested in those mugs.

I like the Polynesian culture, but I don't collect much.

What's in the glass?? Doesn't look like tea to me.

It's fizzy grape tea. Lol. ; )

Afternoon tea has never been about tea 😝 it’s all about cakes and bubbly.

So the tea is just a prop? The more I learn about the Brits the more I like them.... ; )

You got that right, tea is just an excuse and codeword 😁

@ericvancewalton, One thing is purely reflecting by this picture and that is you had abundant time. Enjoy your time ahead.
