... remain enshrouded behind a stormy veil over Bowron Lake. In the in 1860’s the first Europeans came to the Cariboo Mountains to find their fortunes, as part of what became known as the first Cariboo Gold Rush. Originally referred to simply as “Bear Lake” it was eventually renamed Bowron Lake after John Bowron, the first Gold Commissioner of the nearby gold mining town Barkerville, who organised numerous exploration parties into the remote mountains to look for gold-bearing ground. Even the harshest winter is so beautiful. Especially love the reflection and the whole color composition!
Thanks. Winter has a beauty all to its own. That said by the end of it your craving a little colour ;-)

Beautiful ! What a landscape ! I love it 🥰
Thanks
Lovely lake. Always interesting how much gold drove early exploration. Some of the most remote beautiful places I've been to in the Rockies were mining ghost towns
This is insane...love the coloring on this as well. Nice and cold.
Yes nice and cold shot because it was cold and I wanted to convey that ;-). Always seems relatively colder in late autumn as your coming from summer temps ; despite winter being a lot colder .
Yeah I would agree, I'm basically desensitized by now.. Though my area isn't near as cold as yours is.
Yes. It's that first winter cold front which hits the hardest. This year I am going from Canadian winter to Spring then to the Australian winter (which is just like Canadian Summer) to then Australian spring and summer. So I will have 5 season in a row of increasing temps ;-)
Beauty, resteemed.
Thanks guys !
