Description
Never compare yourself to other people's abilities. All people are equal but each of them has experienced something different and made different choices. Each person has different interests and therefore different abilities or talents.
Focus only on yourself and become better than you were yesterday. Your benchmark should be your own past.
Little book tip from Mark Manson "The Subtle Art of not giving a F*ck". In this book there is a true story:
Source: Google Picture
A guitarist gets thrown out of his band unannounced. When he takes the bus from NYC to LA he swears to himself one thing: To become better than his old band and more successful than them.
Years go by and he becomes one of America's best guitarists even from the world. Sells several million albums and becomes rich. At some point he is invited to a talk show and is asked if he is happy now. He answers NO, because the band that threw him out is going to be the most successful rock metal band in the world. This band became Metallica which sold over 110 million albums.
This guitarist couldn't be happy because his focus was wrong. He is better, more successful and wealthier than he was before. But he is unhappy because his focus is on becoming better than someone and that is a 50/50 chance in life. In his case even less so because he is competing alone against a band in comparison.
Conclusion: Never compare yourself with others except with you in the past.
Beautiful thoughts buddy ✨✨👌🏿
