They didn't know it when they were doing the promo. They shortly after got slapped $24,000,000.00 by the SEC which is much less than they have been spending on compliance and have been on the doorsteps of regulators since. I'm sure it was more of a disappointment to them in not only having to delay but also spend a good chunk of their money on top of the 24million to be sure they we're not going to be taken down.

The one plus for all of this is Dan Larimer is speaking before legislation and educating them on the principals of blockchain and the advantages of it, which is imo really good for crypto in general and the less hostile the US is towards crypto and crypto users the better. You're in UK and you don't feel what a US citizen goes through with all the crypto sites they're not allowed to go to and participate in.
