Google phone phones have registered a shy presence in the smart phone market, specifically in the United States, where the sales numbers of "Pixel" and "Pixel 2" barrier of 4 million devices until the end of 2017.
According to Francesco Girinmo, director of research at the Financial Services Corporation (IDC), the total sales of pixel phones, including the second generation, have reached 3.9 million since they were first introduced in October 2016, The Virgues reported.
These numbers represent only a fraction of the smart phone market around the world, which has more than 1.5 billion devices and is roughly equivalent to the total of Apple's iPhone handsets in a week.
Despite the lack of sales, analysts believe Google is on track, with its US market share rising from 1.8 to 2.8 percent in 2017.
Its recent acquisition of the HTC design team for more than $ 1 billion promises to provide the company with stronger phones in the future this year.
