Apple's Privacy Policy

Though I prefer running graphene and desktop linux, I can see a variety of arguments for why apple can be good privacy-wise.

Apple's privacy policy is very robust, especially when it comes to things like maps. They even have E2E on imessage and allow for icloud encryption. They totally scan your mails tho, so i wouldnt use their email service. Sure it may not be "perfect" and their whole "scanning for CSAM" bs was there in the past, but I see it as better than nearly all other privacy policies for off-the-shelf devices (microsoft, google, samsung, etc.)

Also, something apple's imessage has way more users than every other chat service because its forced for every iOS user. That in my eyes is a positive because Im not gonna be able to convince random people I meet to use something like signal lol.

I think another big thing is that it is off-the-shelf. There is no tinkering involved, its convenient. Also apple has had pretty robust security. Even the grapheneOS dev says iPhone is directly behind to grapheneOS securitywise.

They charge a lot for their products upfront, but so far it seems Apple's the most privacy-respecting company of the three, though they too have had some shady stuff in the news recently.
