The thing with PC users is many of us are used to the idea of freely upgrading parts as needed. Especially if you grew up like me in the 80s and 90s where hand built computers were just how we did things. We never bought from hp or dell. That was for normie home users lol
Whereas Apple is more like a console approach I guess you could say. You buy what you buy. You can pick a few options at time of purchase but then that’s it. There isn’t really a right or wrong way to it. Some consumers like that simplification whereas others find it limiting and frustrating.
In a perfect world I would like to see Apple have user upgradable ram and ssd etc but at the same time I don’t really give a shit. It’s a computer. A tool. I use it and at some point it won’t be fit for purpose and will end up as waste. Given how small apples computer market share is tho there is a hell of a lot more general PC ewaste from low end dell, hp, Asus, Lenovo etc systems. Given that something like 97% of computer users never make any change/upgrade to their computer and just replace it when it dies/is too slow it isn’t surprising. My parents have had three laptops in the same timeframe I had one as they just buy cheap crap from Lenovo or acer or whatever is on sale when they need a new computer.
