No, that's not the name of the new models, but it's how I feel about them. I've never really been bothered about the Apple phones, but I'm certainly not paying $/£700 for the iPhone 8 or a ridiculous $/£1000 for the iPhone X. Okay, so they have some neat features, but it's getting harder each year to be innovative.
My daughter has a 5, but is not bothered about upgrading and she's finding iTunes frustrating. I've been happy enough with Android. I just don't want something that expensive in my pocket, but we all have a massive choice of what phone to get. My current one does what I want for a fraction of the price. I still plan to review it some time.
I love technology, but I just don't feel the need to pay such a premium for the latest and greatest. If you do then go for it.

I'm quite excited about this new iPhone X and a lot of the new features are more useful or at least a bit cooler than anything they've been able to add in the last few models but I just can't really justify spending a grand on it, especially when my iPhone 6 is still going strong.
It's harder to find features that will make people want to upgrade now. We don't need more dots on the screen, the cameras are good and we can run the apps we need. Apparently people are waiting longer to upgrade now.
Yeh features like the wireless charging and the facial recognition are more cool than they are genuinely useful. They work on significantly improving the battery life, that would be something worth upgrading for
I had wireless charging on my old phone. It's handy to just put it down to charge and not fiddle with cables. That had facial recognition too, but probably not as secure
im using old samsung for 10 years :) and battery still can hold 5 days! But for google map and another apps i got cheap Motorola like 25 euro which i can use for this :)
That's dedication. I wish batteries could last longer on new phones. I don't use actual phone functions much.
I am also a great fan of android. We can get at a very cheaper price in android and have to pay like ridiculous price for the iphone. People are just nuts.
My Nexus 4 was great, but even Google only support for a few years. Then you are at more risk of getting hacked. A powerful phone should be usable for a lot longer.
Did you try using a mod?
An Android mod? I used Cyanogen on an old phone to get a newer version. My old phone had some other issues, but I'll keep it as a spare
So Google does not support Nexus Now? Although it has launched its pixel series but I think it should not stop giving support to the older models.
iPhone 8 and 8+ were so rubbish even they finished it quite early and came straight to the iPhone X only main highlight was the Screen size and Argument reality otherwise no innovation :( and the price just sucks
basically i am with you . i like my android Nokia 5 version. and by the meantime i have to sell my two kidneys instead of one kidney to brought i-phone8 .
For £1000 I'd want it to include Time Travel.

Living in a rural area with no mobile signal does somewhat dampen my enthusiasm for expensive smart phones...
Apple continues exploiting the iPhone brand and I wonder for how long they can do it. Like you said, every year it is harder to be innovative. In addition, low and mid range Android smartphones have been improved a lot, and the smartphone market is saturated.
I just got done reading an article about the iPhone x although impressive i agree that the price tag is absurd i have been using an iPhone 4 for years now i do plan to upgrade though i might get the iPhone 6 after the release of the new one the price will drop.
The prices of new iPhones when they come out are just ridiculous. That's three or four months mortgage payment for some people.
Just who is going out and spending that sort of money on these things? It's crazy money.
In the past I was buying the latest Iphone each year, but I noticed it was just getting ridiculous! I am still with my Iphone 5 and will stay with it for some more years. Not interested to buy new ones and spending such amount of money.
That can be an expensive habit. I've never been one for buying the top-end phones. You get 95% of the functionality from something that costs a fraction of that. Most people mainly do Facebook, take photos and play games. Any phone can do those, although I appreciate photo quality varies. Mostly they have reached a level of 'good enough' for most purposes, but companies still want us to upgrade. It's good to see that people are waiting longer for that.
You are absolutely right man! Now that i have my camera, i don't think i need any fancy phone. And since joining steemit, i am using my smartphone so rarely.
Lol, I liked 'meh'. It is understandable to read such a post from a satisfied android user. I LOVE iOS but still the new device isn't that impressive, I agree.

I don't deny Apple have some good technology, but I think it gets over-hyped. Android has plenty of issues, but I prefer a more open platform so I have more choice.
Over-hyped is the result of their amazing branding technique I guess. They brand Apple so greatly. They don't get much criticism either. I know people who are loyal Apple customers, silently they do think Apple sometimes lack the innovation etc. but don't call it out. Spiral of silence maybe?
Customer loyalty is a wonderful thing. The Apple fandom almost seems like a cult ;) It's working for them as they are so profitable. When I'm buying something expensive I'll consider all the options and value for money is a consideration.

I haven't researched a lot about it yet. But that's all I have been heard about it. That the 8 is not such an upgrade on the 7 and that the X that actually bring new and cool stuff it is way to expensive to get. :S Well I guess the 8 for me it would be a nice upgrade cause I am on the 6 plus.... but also I think I would prefer to wait for the X that change a little bit the whole thing. Anyway I am broke so I won't be getting any of them LOL :D

Apple sell their new flagship 1000 USD( with spec below galaxy s8).
This will increase the fracture between low end users like iphone se buyers and iphone X buyers.
People buy Iphone not to own a phone but to be seen as owning an iphone. And if you don't have an iphone 8 in 2018 you will be seen as a poor man .
This is so sad i hope Steve jobs didn't died and they kept inovating.

I love my LG 6.....which I got because of the camera reviews. I love Androids....no Apple stuff for me.
Ill stick with my S8 android is of course an open system. Apple looks nice but agree meh
I also think that phones should perform their basic function, and everything else is for an amateur.
I know a lot of people that dislike the iphone for many reasons of manipulation and price..
