Nuevamente quiero compartir con ustedes un tanto de mi libros favoritos, en este caso, una de las obras que más he disfrutado hasta ahora. Hoy quiero hablarles de uno de los libros más famosos de la literatura universal, La Insoportable Levedad del Ser escrita por el renombrado escritor checo Milán Kundera.
Again I want to share with you a bit of my favorite books, in this case, one of the works that they have enjoyed the most so far. Today I want to talk about one of the most famous books in world literature, The Unbearable Lightness of Being written by the renowned Czech writer Milan Kundera.
Este libro es un majestuoso viaje de amor, lujuria, muerte, traiciones y erotismo. La historia gira en torno a Teresa una mujer noble y sumisa, esposa de Tomas, un médico, político y recalcitrante mujeriego. También se encuentra Franz, un profesor entusiasta recién divorciado, y por último Sabina, una mujer apasionada por la fotografía y bohemia.
This book is a majestic journey of love, lust, death, betrayal, and eroticism. The story revolves around Teresa, a noble and submissive woman, the wife of Tomás, a doctor, politician and recalcitrant womanizer. There is also Franz, an enthusiastic teacher recently divorced, and finally Sabina, a woman passionate about photography and bohemia.
- Este libro narra la cotidianeidad de Teresa y Tomas, una pareja que fue unida por azares del destino. Thomas, se enamora a primera vista de Teresa, sostiene un amor entrañable hacia ella, pero tampoco duda en llevarse a la cama a cualquier mujer. Por su parte, Teresa en medio de sus celos irracionales, no puede dejar a un lado el amor que siente por su marido y decide seguir con él. La relación que tienen ambos podría considerarse de peso.
Por otro lado, se encuentra Franz, alguien que ha vivido una vida tranquila junto a su esposa y familia, pero ahora desea experimentar nuevas vivencias y por ende, decide desprenderse de esa relación y de los romances por un largo tiempo. Y ni hablar de Sabina una mujer viajera que evita totalmente el compromiso y la intimidad entre sus amantes tras varias decepciones amorosas, por eso decide acostarse con hombres casados . Este par representaría la levedad y la ligereza.
1.This book narrates the daily life of Teresa and Tomas, a couple who were united by chance of fate. Thomas, who falls in love at first sight with Teresa, maintains an intimate love for her, but he also does not hesitate to take any woman to bed. For her part, Teresa, in the midst of her irrational jealousy, cannot put aside her love for her husband and decides to continue with him. The relationship between the two could be considered weighty.
On the other hand, there is Franz, someone who has lived a quiet life with his wife and family, but now wants to experience new experiences and therefore, decides to part with that relationship and the romances for a long time. And not to mention Sabina, a traveling woman who totally avoids commitment and intimacy between her lovers after several love disappointments, that's why she decides to sleep with married men. This pair would represent lightness and lightness.

2.A grosso modo, les comento que este libro no tiene una trama totalmente definida, narra más la cotidianeidad de estas parejas sin idealizaciones ni prejuicios, cada uno de los personajes de este cuadro amoroso decide vivir las relaciones a su propia manera. Entonces: ¿cómo es mejor amar? ¿Desde el peso o la levedad? Estoy segura que cada pregunta abrirá un camino hacia el auto descubrimiento, y es que a pesar de que el autor considera que no es una obra filosófica podemos encontrar numerosos cuestionamientos sobre el amor, creencias y luchas internas que nos aquejan, además hace referencia a la teoría del "eterno retorno" de Nietzsche.
2.Roughly, I comment that this book does not have a fully defined plot, it narrates more the daily life of these couples without idealizations or prejudices, each of the characters in this love picture decides to live relationships in their own way. So: how is it better to love? From weight or lightness? I am sure that each question will open a path to self-discovery, and that is that despite the fact that the author considers that it is not a philosophical work, we can find numerous questions about the love, beliefs and internal struggles that afflict us, and also refers to the Nietzsche's "eternal return" theory.
3.En los últimos tres capítulos se centran en el contexto histórico y político de la revolución checa a final de los años 60, las luchas comunistas y socialistas de la época, por lo que ofrece una disertación bastante interesante para adentrarse en ese contexto de reivindicaciones sociales y batallas en las que participan activamente los protagonistas.
3.In the last three chapters, they focus on the historical and political context of the Czech revolution at the end of the 1960s, the communist and socialist struggles of the time, and therefore offer a rather interesting dissertation to delve into this context of social demands and battles in which the protagonists actively participate.
Por último, sólo les puedo decir que este libro me enganchó aunque en ciertas ocasiones me hizo sentir en una montaña rusa por el mundo interno de los personaje en el que no podía dejar de identificarme con ciertas características de cada uno de ellos. De igual manera, me mantuve atenta durante toda la lectura no solo por sus interrogantes y mensajes subliminales, sino me brindó otra óptica de ver las relaciones de pareja; sobre lo que uno espera, lo que uno tiene y finalmente lo que dicen otros qué es.

Finally, I can only tell you that this book hooked me, although on certain occasions it made me feel like I was on a roller coaster ride through the characters' internal world, where I couldn't help but identify with certain characteristics of each one of them. In the same way, I was attentive throughout the reading, not only for its subliminal questions and messages, but it also gave me another perspective to see couple relationships; about what one expects, what one has and finally what others say what it is.
