Grey Storm Clouds Enhance Soft Colors … Chiang Mai, Thailand – Architectural Photography

in #architecturalphotography6 years ago (edited)

As I passed this building just outside the Chiang Mai moat, the gathering storm clouds enhanced the scene.

Dull and darkening

As I had walked into this compound 5 minutes earlier, the basic shapes and simple form of this building made it seem rather dull. (See below photo.) But that was before the clouds darkened the sky.

Softer and warmer

Later, as I walked out of the compound, I again passed this building. The gathering storm clouds had changed the light. As a result, the soft pastel hue of the façade had turned softer, brighter and warmer.

In fact, the entire scene was enhanced by the soft light that was filtered through the storm clouds.

First photo, taken before the storm clouds had floated in.

(As you can see, the colors in the above photo are much richer.)

Chiang Mai is in Thailand, why is there a map of Singapore at the bottom of the post?

Thanks for that. I had mistakenly inserted the map of Singapore, but have now corrected it.

I appreciate your observation and input. Cheers!

An excellent photo, but the eye and the quality of the photographer is what makes this scene so perfectly captured. Congratulations.

Thanks. A great scene is of course important.

Beautiful photography pf home.

Incredible light effect. Before and after. Very good post

Would you consider that a three or fiur story house in Thailand?

It's actually not a house. I guess it's a 3.5-storey building.

An interesting observation. It is true that everything in our life is relative. Even the look of things varies from their relationship to the background.

Wow, the rain clouds certainly do create a colour pop 😊

Hi @majes.tytyty, I m very late in asking, but would you mind voting for my son @bxlphabet in toss up thursday? He is at the top based on vote value, but not in # of votes which is what counts for this one. You only need to vote at 1% for your vote to count.

You are killing it over here! Dang, I wish I had your success! And your shot most definitely improved. I am in KL now, going to Singapore for my in-and-out next week. I'm not ready for this trip in the least :)

Hi FitnFun.

I'm sorry, but I just saw this now. I took a quick trip back to Canada, and what with trying to get used to the post-HardFork platform, I've not been keeping up to date with all.

Also, I was buying hefty upvotes pre the fork, but now that the lucrative window has been reduced from 30 minutes to 15 minutes, upvote-buying opportunities are severely decreased. That's been a bit of a downer, but I'm now getting over it, and am getting back into the swing of things.

Hope you enjoyed your trip, even if you weren't looking forward to it. I have to make a visa run in December, and might first take a trip thru Singapore.

Anyway, I hope all is well with you. Sorry again for not being able to help out your son this time. I'll be glad to do so anytime, so always, feel free to ask.
