ArchitecturalPhotography - Tipi

I want to participate in this contest today to present you a different kind of architecture we used to see in this contest.

You can see them here in Alberta quite often, but I think that just like touristic attraction. I'm guessing indigenous people don't use them like shelters anymore. But I'm not 100% sure.

A lot of people visit The Calgary Stampede from all over the world every year. Tipis for sure are one of the magnets for photo shooting.

I took this one beside the road while traveling from Jasper towards Banff National Park.

This one looks a bit smaller. Kid's bedroom? Maybe.

They don't look like some fancy gothic or baroque architecture, but they are much older and that. Most of the people will never have a chance to see them in their lives except in some old western movies.

I consider myself lucky. I can see them often in my real life.

I used my Sony DSC-H3 camera as usual.

Grab some coins, my friends. It's not gonna last.

Sort:

I like the tents. They're not only colorful but they look pretty stable. I think they can withstand summer's windy days.

Awsome photos! Great post!

I can't believe you got to see this in real life, awesome!

Really funny color of the tippis

This is beautiful, as a festival in nature.

Haha nice i never think of architecture on Tipi tents but nice pictures.

They use the ones down at head smashed in for education...kids can stay in them overnight i think.

Nice Weather in Alberta :)

  • 23 WOW Man... Minus 31 zjutri ? Ni nor... :)

These houses wigwams, they are very popular in Russia! We use them as a toy house for children. The kids love this. Good photos.

I will follow you, please follow me, and we will help each other

Those are some colorful Tipis. We lived close to a national historical site in Pennsylvania when I was a child. Walking into a Tipi was always an a huge eye opener for my imagination.

I wonder about the simplicity in their lives. But now we have turned all that simple into unnecessary complex one.People have more wants than they need
-cheers-

You right. But I'm not sure how they heat that think at minus 30.

They must have definitely had a way for that.Otherwise they wont survive this far
-cheers-

wow this makes me proud of our ancestors..they have had a very great technology and architectural knowledge..we have built ourselves on that :)

These are beautiful. Love it.
I have seen Tipis here in BC, but not too many.

I don’t think I have only ever seen one Tipi or TeePee which is I think how they are called here and it’s a little one in a park somewhere not even sure where it was I saw it a few years back

To see a variety of them regulars pretty cool

Great entry... a unique architecture for sure!

Similar kind of architecture we use in the summer when we go camping :)

I would definitely qualify them as old architecture :) Oldtimer reminds us of old times :)

Cool to see some architecture that's not out of brick or metal! It's like when people only post sunsets in the goldenhourphotography. So thanks for the variation!
