Architectural Photography: Ticino, Switzerland

While being driven around by @kus-knee

in the Ticino area of Switzerland during a visit last year...

I just had to stop him so I could get this shot:

I'm so glad I did!

It's one of my favourites!

I love Switzerland, went there two years ago and the architecture is so beautiful there

Yes, it is very beautiful I have been there several times now, and I am going again in a couple of days. Lucky me!

i agree with you swiz is a beautiful country :)

follow me plz

Dear @onceuponatime you are really lucky because you got the opportunity and take images at locations were few people can go.
I would like to tell you some advises (at least at architectural photography as photographer) You got a really good shot with nice neutral colors. The problem here is the lines. Because of you were at the bottom of the building, the top of it is making a triangle (Lige pyramid).
You sould if of course want make a few changes with photoshop and rearange the lines. This will make the photo more dynamic.

I took initiative to make few changes (hope you like it and not be mad with me)

I love stone architecture!

Reminds me a bit of this photo I took in Lisboa during SteemFest2!

Did you enter the contest?

No I didn't....Didnt even know about the contest till you mentioned it!

So glad you got that Old Dog to stop for your photo hahahaha

All I want to say is that we don't hear enough from you. You have so many things to share.. especially from your position of where are you are in life. Consider me a student. Mumble has changed. BeyondBitcoin has changed. Your life and semi-retirement has changed.

Looking forward to more of your posts. You're living the life I dream about.

I found the move from Mumble to Discord disconcerting. Perhaps I am getting too old to change :-)

That is a really great shot. Switzerland was always one of my favorite places to visit as a kid; even as a 10-12 year old I appreciated the scenic beauty of it.

I really need to start looking into all these photo contests and challenges...

superb Shot with Excellent mood! I Love it!

Here's my holiday snap of an old cathedral in France (Simorre, Gers)

But my favourite isn't the dramatic tower, it's this one of a little tabby being overlooked by some leftover decorations from a children's festival that took place a few days before...

The clear blue sky complements the nice structure. Nice one!

My friend went there to play hockey 10 years ago and never moved back. There for life now lol Ive had some great visits there!!

I heard that it was addicting. I better watch myself!

Nice photo. Europe is just full of awesome sites like this and it is also the reason why I prefer to cover these cities by foot. Otherwise I'll be stopping all the time. Here in South Africa we simply don't have building that old. ;)

I've been to Switzerland only briefly but loved it. I'm currently posting some of my photo's of Germany I took 10 years ago and your photo here was fairly relevant and similar.

Keep exploring!

Thanks for dropping by. In Canada, where I am from, it is also pretty hard to find an older building - and in the western part of the country, damn near impossible :-)

Well, in Canada and South Africa we have epic landscapes/nature... wouldn't ever swap it for old building. ;)

Wow what a great entry and awesome shot @onceuponatime ! The architecture in Switzerland must be beautiful and very cool to see in person , you must have really had a great visit with @kus-knee , he's an awesome guy that I have followed from the start ! Keep up the great work !👍👍👍

@kus-knee is the best and he has a lot of nice things to say about your tireless efforts in steemit!

He is pretty awesome ! Haha well that's good to hear thanks for your kind reply back ! 👍👍👍💕

this is really a superb shot. Deserves to be a favourite :) . The angle of the shot is awesome. The trees, the tower all seem to be reaching up, heavenwards, like an arrow. The shadowed corner creates a kind of sanctuary. And the sunlight above brings cheer to the sanctuary :) . Artistic shot that infuses the architecture with atmosphere, @onceuponatime :)

Lovely photos!
I lived in Geneva for 5 months and I loved it, you should visit Italy, it is all a new-ancient world to photograph, especially the South, where I come from.

Never been to Switzerland but i 've seen similar church towers in Hellas(Greece) too . Excellent photo.

thx @onceuponatime you met some steemians in real life.. what a great way to know them ans show them the country.. what about the steemit bbq in loutraki ;-)

Barbecue? In the winter?

why not, I guess the weather it's better then in Holland.. But maybe plan it for spring ;-)
I hope you would find some time to read my witness profile and would vote for me as witness some day..
I can bring some sausages, when my witness journey will get a suc6

BBQ is always possible.. just a question for you as blackberry lover.. and what about this:

I guess you had a nokia 10 years ago.. what will happen with BTC in 10 years from now

hello! i just followed you. i like all your posts, because they're incredibly beautiful.

This is a GREAT shot. Thank you for sharing! :)

I love Switzerland..............................

This make me curious about some more details like;
When was it build, which place, and what is it..
This picture is well taken en I like the architecture.

Sorry, I don't have any of those details. But I will be back there in a couple of days. Maybe i can find out :-)

So gorgeous! Want to go to Switzerland too someday. I posted a picture for the architecturalphotography contest too. I would love it if you could check it out and give me your opinion. :)

We seem to have similar tastes in photography (judging by the angle of the shots!)

You are absolutely right! :) thank you for checking my photo :D appreciate it

Incredible architectural designs in that time which are historic great shot

What camera brand and model do you use, your photos look amazing.

That photo was taken with a Canon PowerShot G10

you stopped their and you seized the moment forever great decision :)

What a view from there must have been great to see that in real :D beautiful shot

Gosh I really can't figure out where is this?

You know what, @kus-knee drove me around to so many places during my visit that I don't remember the location either. I have hundreds and hundreds of photos, enough to enter photo contests for years!

I will ask @kus-knee when I arrive there tomorrow.

Ah! Have a good trip then! Time to fill another SD card :)

did you went to the top! and saw the view?

Nope, just stopped for a moment to snap the photo. Life's mad rush rushed on.

I love switzerland .i never visited but i want to visit switzerland one day.you have increased my interest through this pic.

What a really cool shot! Those trees must be fairly tall.

I think they are unfairly tall. :-)

Someone took out all the competition! They've probably been spoon fed all their lives. They might not have done so well in the rough and tumble of a real forest don't you think?

It is quite an imposing and majestic structure there @onceuponatime
I love the clear skies background with blue hues. I feel like going up there in the tower too.

Maybe I had you in the back of my mind when I snapped the photo!

@onceuponatime,
"It's one of my favourites!"
I could understand why you said this! It was a professional photo shot! One more thing, I mean a request! Now you are in Greece, so hope you could show us lots of great architectures there too!
Seems you are planing to visit Switzerland again! Wish you a great journey as well! Good luck!

Cheers~

Thanks for your good wishes. I will certainly be looking out for architectural photo opportunities in Greece.

Up Vote and Re Steem.

That was a good photo. You gave a good angle to see. The photo was taken in the right place and in the right direction. The result is very good photo. Good job.

Is that your humble opinion? LOL

Hahaha good try. LoL.
I like enjoying the photograph, I'll say good if good and not if not. ☺😊

An honest man! Wow, I finally found one!

Hahaha, thanks you, but it's me, I'm just the man who like photograph.

Beautiful architecture, beautiful photography, I invite you to visit my Blog, a hug

Wow.. fantastic photo capture @onceuponatime. I Really love Switz.
Upvote & Resteem.

I really love it too (except for how expensive everything is).

Yeah...that would be good.

An excellent photo and the tower itself impresses with its architecture. Thank you @onceuponatime

Lots of things in Switzerland are impressive!

Perfect architectural tower in Switzerland. Switz is very beautiful country.

Lots of elegance in Switzerland.

It's beautiful, so many people never look up!

They don't know what they are missing :-)

A very nice picture and very elegant architecture
@onceuponatime

I was right to stop, right?

in my opinion, a nice view or shot is ALWAYS worth a stop!

yes sir @onceuponatime you was right when stopped and picked up the picture

It is kinda sweet how most people would put this photo into Italy - not realizing the Swiss Confederation borders with the cypresses in the south :-) Glad you made the old-dog @kus-knee stop for the photo! Cheers from the Seven Mountains in Germany

They speak mostly Italian in that part of Switzerland.

I bet they do :-) Bona notte a te - dormi bene e sogni d'oro :-) Time to hit the bed here in Germany!

Woww great shot! Is it a castle or an old church? Looking awesome.
P.S. say hi to The Old Dog from me 😁😁😁.

Don't Old Dogs bite?

Ahahaaa he is a good one :)))

I like how the one tree is light-bathing in this shot, but I feel sorry for the other one left in the shadows... :(
(Real-life story a lot of us would relate to)

A lot of interesting things go on in the shadows :-)

This is true ;)

GREAT SHOT for this topic! Thanks for sharing, it was definitely worth the stop!

Namaste :)

Stop by any time :-)

Great Angle that is. Nice photography.

@onceuponatime Wow beautiful

Who, me?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha You are hilarious @onceuponatime and I must admit a talented one ;) I was referring to your post though. You made my evening ! Thank you

I hope that you mean that in a good way :-)

@onceuponatime Oh, in a very good way ;-)

Wow, that is so surprising and impressive that you got that architectural Photography. If i didn't know, I would think they that it is not Ticino. Well done!
