Chichén Itzá-1.jpg

Travelling to a place such as Chichén Itzá is truly an awe inspiring experience. How this and other structures were built and the way they where used for things such as communication in an era with out modern technologies is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of the the people.

Reminds me of some of the structures around the southwest in the US. I worked with a Navajo cleaning up the sites and preserving them after wildfires, he pointed out how silly it was that people assumed the ancients were dumb and had to resort to saying all of their construction was done by aliens. While they aren't as well preserved in the US, when one studies the sites it becomes very clear how intelligent and creative ancient peoples really were.

Excellent shot! I live a few hours from this magical place but have only been there once so far :) Need to revisit Chichen. I heard its even more fascinating during a sunset.

Nothing like Traveling.
If you have a camera in hand , you don't even need a companion.
A well composed shot.
