To all our fellow Steemians, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We Hitheryonians are the road today, seeing family and fighting food comas, so today we'll do another fun post to celebrate turkey day. Online and in our fancy design magazines, we are so accustomed to shiny renderings and “high-end” design. In truth, the world is filled with much more creative jest. So today, we present to you some of the most objectively thematic buildings of the world!

In 1931, local farmer Martin Maureer erected this beauty on Long Island. Today, it’s free to visit and hosts many community activities!

Shoe salesman Mahlon Haines had this beauty built in 1948 as a streetside living advertisement, along with a shoe-shaped doghouse.


The new owners even kept the mailbox!

When Longaberger basket company wanted a new headquarters in the late 90s, they wanted to commit themselves to the quality of their product. For nearly twenty years, this building has been the World’s Biggest Basket.
