For the construction of an extension of its architecture school, the UCL in Leuven in Belgium has called on the Portuguese studio Aires Mateus.
Renowned for their abstract and modernist architecture, the architects of Aires Mateus, realized a simple and monochrome building, typical of their architectural language.
The main rectangular volume is cut with excavated geometric shapes reminiscent of a house pictogram. This new volume serves as a central meeting space for students.
