Tanque Verde Falls is one of the coolest places in Tucson. It is like a beach out in the middle of the desert!
Getting there is about a mile and a half hike up the stream bouldering over all the rocks.
There is a lot to see in the way of plant and animal life.
Part of the way up there are little waterfalls to cool off in.
Let it hit your shoulders and it is like a massage.
Once you get there it is refreshing to know you will be able to get in the water soon.
Since I’m a Savage I bring a blow up air mattress so I can float around out there.
Surprisingly there are a bunch of decent sized fish in the pool. I never saw any the last time I was there.
Some of the blue gill were about 6 to 8 inches long. There were some other ones that were blue and a little smaller that were mating.
I’m still perplexed as to how the fish could get there. Does anyone have any clue as to how this could happen?
Very cool. Little swimming holes and places like this aren't really around me, wish I had more stuff like that around
I would rather have a big lake like Lake Michigan close! There is a lake I always liked in Northern Indiana called Lake Wawasee. It is the largest natural lake in Indiana besides Lake Michigan. It is a pretty cool spot.
I'll have to check it out, just under 3 hours for me so not terrible
Three ideas on the fish.
One - Someone put some there.
Two - Bird grabbed a pregnant one and then accidentally dropped it in there before eating it.
Three - When the waters from Noah's flood receded, a few were trapped there.
Personally, I leaning towards option 1. If I come visit, will you take me there?
The odd this is I have been there before and have never seen fish there and especially not bigger ones like that. I think it is more likely someone put them in there like you said.
Yeah I will take you there. There are a couple other super cool spots as well!

Looks like an awesome place! So are there any streams that feed into this spot? Maybe that's how the fish got there
