Here's how I got to steemit

After watching a sponsored video about Steemit on Facebook, I decided to make an account and well because of my misconception that I could recover my password in case I lost it, didn't pay much heed to worrying about providing a safe place to my password. So, it turned out, I no longer had my super-password and was kind of doomed xD.
Also, I didn't try to create an account again as I had no authentic info about Steemit being genuine. It was around 4 months ago when I came across this guy named Mohsin in a WhatsApp group and soon we became good buddies. So, we started conversing more often. One thing led to another and somewhat it turned out he was using Steemit and I was almost awestruck by hearing it from that he had withdrawn some money from Steemit. That kind of got me interested and believe if you're a student and running short on your expenses, you'd know how cool that feeling of interest must have been for me. I was on a vacation then and couldn't avail myself some speedy internet to create an account. It was a 3 months wait till my return to the university. So, I just started counting down the days. Luckily, I got to visit the city where my university is situated about a month before the vacation was over and also, could avail myself some good internet. There was no need to wait (haha), so I grabbed a laptop and hurled towards Steemit's website and here I was again, submitting the same info in just a different way because Steemit won't let me use the previous details. New username, new number ( of my own ) and you can say, it was entering the left of me while earlier it was the right. In either case, it'll just be a side of me (haha). After submitting my application for verification, I got back home and the other day got here to the city of my university. Could I forget checking for an email from Steemit on my Gmail accuont? hell no. As soon as I got free from the casual greeting-a-friend-after-a-long-time things, I grabbed my laptop and logged into my Gmail account. Hurrah! There it was, the mail from Steemit had arrived. But... my friend, the wait was still due as it turned out when I clicked the link for further steps to walk on for the completion of account's creation, that sign ups had been temporarily closed. Strange lands often bewilder the stranger, you know. Well, that kind of saddened me as I thought maybe I was going to lose the account again, this time for no apparent reason. I turned to my WhatsApp buddy again to ask if he knew what the problem was and almost as always, he had an answer. I was told that sign ups were closed for Steemit was being updated. Well, I had to succumb to the unwanted wait and so I did. A while ago, I thought I should try the link for account's creation again as it might work if the updates have been implemented/uploaded ( I don't know how updates work for sites haha), so as to complete the remaining work. My try proved to be a golden one and to my good luck, the link was working. You can now imagine the rest of the story; provide info, do this, do that. After all that, I had a 'Congrats! Your account has been successfully created'. AND, at the end here I am, finishing the article and about to click "Post". Hope you liked my story :).
