On a previous post I mentioned about this bit:
I also gave in to the temptation of buying this hand model for myself. It's the recent hit artist support item that I intend to make full use of for studies.
TL:DR
This hand model was last year's hyped up artist support item that were sold limited due to supply can't keeping up with the demand. It's like when PS5 went out and gamers started to hoard or lock in those pre-orders. Now the hype is slowly getting over and I managed to convince myself it's worth the "investment" for art studies than frivolous spending.
Worth the Buy vs Overpriced Paper Weight?
Provided you didn't bought the knock off version, the material is good, sturdy and the joints are flexible to do all the poses on the promotional pics. It's one round about way of saying that the item actually is what it is on the ads.
I think it's worth the price. The craftsmanship of producing this model and how it is specifically made to solve a problem for artists drawing hands.
I know it's easy to just look at your own hands for reference or maybe even some pictures online, but it's not the same "feel" as straining your eyes on screen while studying the reference vs looking at some tangible object. It's not a must need to study because obviously people can draw hands before this product ever existed but it's convenient for study.
Will I be drawing sexy hands?
Maybe. I thought about buying a foot model to learn how to draw for a specific audiences in the future.
The whole process was always about drawing cute anime girls.

Meanwhile I can imagine that thing jumping up and scurrying around the house XD
Good investment, that’ll come in real handy!
I assume it's worth it when you work with it. This is a male hand, when I look to the fingers length (middle & pointing finger). I didn't found a female looking hand on their website... Did you saw female hands? Will it be hard to draw female hands, because of the finger position/length with this as a reference? Or is it not obvious in paintings you do?
P.S.: The link in the top section to the hand model is broken - but easy to edit for the person who like to open the link. But maybe you want to fix it.
Hive a great day!
Thanks for the notice. Only male hand models but the female hand is just a thinner version of the male hand with curvy edges than angular so not having that is fine. It's more perspective studies and trying to get a "feel" for drawing something 3D in 2D.
You are welcome! Okay, thank you for the feedback! I drew in the past (or I would say "I tried", because it was still basic with basic tools), but the stress of life got me. Pretty relaxing - maybe I will find back once again. For sure a model like this can be a good reminder and a quest in the same time - and should it just be for a small sketch. I look forward to your fist hand pics I see next time!
Rock on!
At first I thought it's for medicine related. Not until I saw the hands
wala kasi ako ka holding hands kaya bumili nalang
Hahah at least di hands from Wednesday 😆
I thought it's robotic...
Damn this actually looks so good. Worth the hype and price as I’ve never seen a hand model this flexible. I bet twisting the joints are satisfying af and I can also imagine the knockoffs would be flimsy and not as smooth. Regardless, to me it’s always worth it to pay especially for a great design like this. It takes so much knowledge about anatomy and design to be able to come up with this. Have fun!
Are you planning on getting one too? give in to the hype~
Knock offs would have rigid joints and easily breakable parts I think, though the price is a dead give away.
This hand is so cool, my 3 years old son if he saw this, he will ask me to buy too, he like this kind of things and everything he called it spiderman.
If he grows up with a liking to fine arts, he will appreciate it even more.
Yes, I agreed for that, my son like to break his car and put it back together by his self, I also thinking he will be car engineer in the future.
oh you finally got it 😮😮 looks like it was all worth the wait. how much does it go for now though? cuz last time i checked, it was still a little overpriced
Bought online from ctboxmanila, 5680 php, fair price for having the stock available from JP to PH~
Overpriced or cheap is subjective, I guess it's fair for me since I don't spend much on anything other than basic necessities so one time payment even if a little bit overvalued at the moment is not a big deal. I'd have an opposite opinion if I shop often because that meant not being able to buy other wants.
ohh it's still not locally available 🥲🥲🥲 at this rate, i might actually have to settle for the wooden model one 🤣
still a little pricey for me but i don't shop a lot, I'm just trying really hard to save
CTBOXmanila online store, bought it from lazada with limited stocks~ di muna kakain ng lunch para ma compensate tong luho~
poverty diet it is 🤣🤣🤣 idk I'm thinking hard cuz the joints make it look so mobile 🥲 so tempting. I'll see if the price will still drop in a few months 🤣
months? a few hundred peso difference now versus the time lost in waiting matters. buy it now, give in to impulsive decisions. 5680 php now, then after 8 months naging 5300 php. Worth the wait ba? baka 3 milk tea lang sinakripisyo mo early for the wait.
kotobukiya pala kaya the pricing 🤣🤣 now i get why the material looked sturdy too. i was actually looking at bootlegs earlier that were half the price and I've been thinking of getting those cuz the reviews aren't so bad. idk I'm not this impulsive 🤣🤣 sa gala lang siguro ako impulsive
Now I am curious about your future works...please share them here
Not much to show for since it's all just hobby drawing but for the sake of show and tell, here are my works, thanks for stopping by!
Why not post them on NFTShowroom? I think people (ie: me) would buy some if the price is not too crazy.
It's on my to do list but not looking at creating one anytime soon.
Finally! Yippee

OH! This is really cool!
I was going to leave some snarky comment about not knowing you 'needed a hand' but actually, as a guy that always drew the hands behind back, I see why this would be amazing for the right guy!
!pimp
Thanks, I think this is a handy tool too~
