Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted. I have been very very busy with thesis (you know how that goes, ugh). But I'm sharing a few of my older works to let you guys check out transitions between style and skill I've had over time. Enjoy! :)
Made this around 2010, I think? I used poster paint in this. I wasn't inspired by an Asian artist who work with textiles. His designs were outstanding, so I wanted to capture it through this painting.
This one was done around 2011. Had a penchant for charcoal, too. :) why skulls? Aside from the emo side that won't subside (oh wow.), I wanted to shoow through this but piece that beauty is skin deep, and that we're basically the same inside.
Both done around 2012. I used pastel, poster paint and charcoal. Me and watercolors weren't very close back then. Haha. But I had fun with mixed media outputs. I usually work on prettifying the hair, because I think it's on every of the best ways women express themselves. Like when women cut their hair after a breakup? Yup. Like that. A woman who changes her hair, changes her life.
Contrasting styles during 2013. I was trying to figure out "where to go" (so to speak) with my art. The styles are as lost as I was after graduation. I didn't know what else to do. At least I had my art to console and help me get by.
They might not seem much, but these works have contributed to my current art style and love for painting. They're an extension of where I am in life, and certainly reflect where I'm going. I'll be making new pieces and exploring new media very soon! So keep posted!
Bonus: tattoo design (that never got inked :))
