We all know how it is forbidden to take photographs in a museum. Well the no photography rule is particularly a NO NO in the national museum in Benin, Edo state. In central Kings Square, the Benin City National Museum traces the history of the Benin Empire and has displays of terracotta sculptures, bronze artifacts retrieved from the British looters, historical monuments and people. Their strict no photography policy is so strict to the extent they will sieze the camera or device used to take the shot. As an enthusiatic and curious photographer.. I sure had my way around it. Here I bring you the beautiful arts and culture of Benin as hidden within the walls of the museum. Enjoy them as I enjoyed taking the photos.
