how to draw a sketch of a face with a pencil

in #art7 years ago

Hi good people...welcome back with me @agmalirsadi, have a great moment for today, and tonight i will to share about drawing or sketch pencil.

#The shading technique#
The result of shading using a pencil gives the impression of a clear and real shaped side of the object, as well as giving a shadow effect, such as hair, nose, around the temple of the eye, and every curve on the head.

Hatching can be done using various types of pencils according to drawing needs such as H & B, HB, 2B, 3B, pencil ... etc until the charcoal pencil also exists, the more complete the drawing tools we will be the more maximal. But until now I only use one type of pencil (2B) which is easy to get in the nearest store, "This is the problem of" Technique "To do shading, must know the part or side that (towards the dark) and which (leading to the brightest side).

For this type of paper, I recommend using HVS paper, as it is simple and has smaller pores, resulting in a smoother and more pleasing paper surface for shading. but we can also use thicker paper such as carton types, or picture books, of good quality. It all depends on your needs.

***For those who want to try, please follow my steps below:***

Step I
note: shading need to determine POSITION SOURCE OF LIGHT

  1. Before shading we must certainly prepare our drawing equipment, complete equipment is much better, just to try simple enough aja only with a clean sheet of paper, a pencil, an eraser, and a pencil sharpener, select a smooth image base. Because will do hatching, so will in need is dry tissue, its function is to smooth or flatten the scratches that have been made.
  2. specify object.
  3. Draw a rough sketch first, (if necessary use the help line).
  4. suggestion: drawing rough sketches need not be thick and pencil eyes are too sharp because after being deleted, it will leave scratch marks, and it will be hard to hilanggkan on paper. "pencil pressure on paper also must be adjusted".

early sketches

  1. Determine the location of the source of lighting, the source of light that we can describe as a "flashlight" and we should be able to imagine the position of near light source and distant light source. If the position of light near the shadow has a high contrast, and if the position of light is far away, the shadow has a low contrast. The more the number of light sources the shadows will be less and of course with the higher the contrast. The number of light sources can be one or more depending on the desire and the position is free.

suggestion: Should not blacken / thicken the shadow so it is very dark and dense, before it is really sure of the result.

Step ll

  1. Contrast is one of the basic knowledge of photography, namely the color difference in a photograph. Especially the difference between the brightest colors called highlights with the darkest colors called shadow. I think the notion of contrast can also be used in hatching.
  2. At the stage of penciling, the tip / eye of the pencil should not be too sharp, (the paper can be damaged or torn).
  3. Begin shading on the darker or the least exposed side of the light, slowly with one hand grasping the pencil as shown below. (if I used to use the middle hand).
    image image
  4. It is better if we can imagine or imagine images into three dimensions, for example objects can be spun and can be seen from various directions (in our mind), so that the shape of the nose, mouth, cheeks, and all about the object so caught the real curve.

Step lll

  1. Change the comfortable body position so that shading becomes more freely.
  2. The really dark and bright side we must know, so that when the shading approaches the boundary between the shadow and the non-shadow becomes soft.
  3. The closer to the color border, the shading pressure applied to the pencil should be weaker. This makes the contrast in the area very low "see picture below :
    imageSoft
    imageHard
note: The contrast border I'm referring to is the two-colored encounter area in the image above
  4. To help the area I call the "border", be smooth or soft use a tissue or a piece of clean cloth made from fine. Rub cloth on the border area of the shadow one or two directions with "feeling". (for this one way, I often experience destruction, because the paper is torn)

Step lV (last step)

  1. Note: The soft or hard border depends on the style or style of "drawing" you want.
  2. Rub / puree also on the other part of the picture as a whole, it will look better.
  3. If you are sure and have thickened the shadows, the final touch .. we need to thicken / also clarify the rough sketch of the earliest been made, (maybe pencil should be in the sharp again so that more sharp and easier line affirmation) Adjust the pencil pressure to the paper so that the side darkened before it became visible, and the paper was not damaged.

This is all I do on the basis of Hobby alone. Doing things like this is not in need of special abilities, as long as likes, surely can. All the instructions are my own way of doing the drawing / sketching (maybe the instructions look not simple). For those of you who have their own way of doing the sketching, it will feel better. If anyone can follow my way, that means "YOUR FOCUS IS 100 PERSON .. LOL: D

I know people is not a perfect person, but there is nothing that can not if we want to try, this applies to all hall because ... NEVER SAY YOU CAN'T
