The Red Lion- The bloodthirsty beast - A not so serious Fiction

There are many legends about the red lion who was famous about
his thirst for blood. His story goes all away back in the 16th century,
in England. There were too many stories , just too dark and terrifying
that people hardly dared to speak of it. The legend says that the
red lion lived in a forest between Wolverhampton and Walsall,
where he would take lives one after another. Woodmans would disappear,
and never again seen. There were many caves and hiding places
in the forests, but the red lion lived in a castle. Drotch was the name
of it. Everybody knew about this place, but the folks thought that
some noble family lived there. Which was true, till the red lion came
and took over the castle. He did not kill the family, he kept them in
the basement. For 400 hundred years.
The red lion does not die.
The red lion can keep people live for as long as he pleases.
The red lion drinks blood to be red and well.

There is more to the red lion's story.
I shall speak of it again.

You write; and you paint. is there something you can't do? :P

Is the story pure fiction, or is it some national lore?

May I ask what paint you used?

well hello ! thanks for your comment.
i thought i give it a try, i hope it is not too ridiculous!
i just came up with the story, because i just painted this lion like a half hour ago,
and i wanted to have some story with it.
It is painted on some wood board with acrylic .
:-)

I... really don't think I'm the one to judge.. I can barely draw stickmen. :3
I like the story better though, I have to admit :p (just a personal preference; I prefer stories :p)
I love that's it is dark and brutal. :3

Hmm~ And are you varnishing it? :p

yes , right before it gets framed :-)
usually with a matt finish, so it is not showing,
but i like shiny too, it makes it look like an oil painting.
if you feel like check out my painting from last night, with the wild boar ! :-)
you know i am an artist not a writer so artwork you will find more here :-)

Ooooh, what are you using for varnish? :D In both cases? Or are you using the same material just applying it differently?
I write; but can't paint. Rather than try myself; I'll check yours out :P Let's see that wild boar :p

Excellent painting.I love it.

thank you! :-)

My kids have a book, The Red Lion, a Tale of Ancient Persia about prince terrified to fight such a creature. Your painting reminded me very much of the lovely illustrations.

hi. thank you for your nice comment!
that book sounds good, i wish i could come up
with such stories ...
:-)
