Lets discuss Divinity: Original Sin II! Also I drew my character !

Divinity: Original Sin II is a great game 8/10! Why 8/10 and not 10/10 ? THE GAME BREAKING BUGS !

Please forgive me for my briefness, i haven't done a review before. I love role-playing games and I was so excited for the games official release! In that regard to the script, combat mechanics, characters and world development Larian Studios did not disappoint!

Lets start with the positives;

  • The game play is challenging, engaging and extremely interactive;the world and characters immersively interact with one another.
  • The characters have engaging backstories and personalities, while their not always the most original?
  • The voice acting is hilarious ! absolutely everything is voice acted or narrated and owww boy when you talk to a chicken ... you cant help but chuckle!
  • The world and maps are beautifully crafted!
  • Side quests are enjoyable, they are actually a fun distraction, while not always relevant to the plot!

For me the bugs were the only negatives to a stunning game. I haven't technically finished the game, because every time I approach the end of the main campaign or invest my time in it, I am demotivated by bugs which to this day have not been fixed. The main glitches I have experienced stop the companion quests from progressing and sometimes I wont realise. Eventually I become aware of the issues and will loose 30 hours of game play trying to trouble shoot.

If you play this game and have faced any of these bugs I am pretty aware of how to trouble shoot a lot of the games issues so PM me !

Now for my drawing based on my screen shot

1- I begin my study by sketching the rough proportions of the character and pose.
2- With the basic form established I begin blocking out details.
3- further refinement of bodies details.
4 - with the body established i begin to roughly add the armour

5 - I begin adding detail/endorsements to the armour
6- Continue building up the armour and its details, I use the eraser a lot at this stage to refine forms.
7 - I clean up my line work, ready for colouring.
8- Flat colour is used to block out the figure.

9 - I begin building up tones, slowly using a brush on low opacity, I use a colour palette for reference at all times.
10- I begin cleaning up the shading, removing any bleeding tone.

finally - I add some cooler tones to the shade to try to make the image pop! I am lazy and didn't draw a background again... this exercise was intended to focus on drawing a complex figure ?

Well this was a long and big post! I hope you were not bored ! I tried to keep both the review and study short?

I hope you enjoyed! Have a lovely day !

Amazing artwork! This has been on my "should play" list for ages now. I don't think I can tackle another rpg so soon though!

I wish I wasn't so lazy with backgrounds XD The game is quite the time commitment !

Lovely to meet you last night.
I think it went really well.

Thanks to @timmm for the shot.

It was a good time :)
Was lovely to meet everyone!

I love this. The drawing is excellent and so is the game. Divinity really feels like the spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate.

Ps: I feel like you should use one of the drawings as the post thumbnail ;)

owww boy when you talk to a chicken ... you cant help but chuckle!

Nice one. this is a fun review KD :) I'm so looking forward to playing D:OS II. Hopefully by the time I do, those bugs you mentioned would have been fixed already.

And you're art is amazing as always. Awesome dual wielding elf!
