Hello everybody! Assembly in general was almost completed before the New Year, but as I waited for some additions to come to me, including wheels for Ferrari, I decided to post this article after the holidays.
For those who have not seen the first part - a summary of the previous series.
Begin
Pain
Success
The big question
Break in the assembly was done with good, I bought consumables, paint and even glue found, although the tube is very miserable, but I think that's enough. So, let's continue.
Vehicle interior.
The search for paint at first did not lead me to anything good. So I thought at first. What I bought again turned out to be both lighter and darker, but not exactly what I need. All the hopes were on this brown color, but it turned out to be too light.
But! The dark paint, titled "Lederbraun" was on the black background just a class! Doubts of course were, but after the painting of the seats, all doubts fell away. In general, my joy is no limit, and the work began to boil. Long thought how to paint the salon, where to highlight black, where to make the skin color. In the end I did this.
And further in the course went photo etching.
For a couple of days I did not take the model, there was absolutely no mood. And here for a couple of weeks before the New Year, I continued to work and apparently all in vain ...
Body.
I got the painted and lacquered body, in some places I had to grind the stuck dust particles and any other rubbish. And then the fourth layer. After drying, there was an attempt to glue the front bumper, trying to put it mildly not successful. And the instruction helped me in this. The instructions do not clearly state at what stage it is necessary to glue the headlights.
Here is the stage under number 7 - the lights are already glued, but stage 8 and here only shows how the headlights should be pasted. Yes, you could think for yourself, sit for a while, but your head was crammed with another. And already in the process of gluing the details, I'm still thinking about it. When it dawned on me, the bumper was almost sapphire and I had to tear it off quickly, put in the headlights, sharpen the places filled with glue, since they were on the reverse side.Plus, in the process of installing headlights, curved hands did their job, and I cut off a piece of the headlight. It can be fixed, but it may well be that behind the glazing this will not be visible, as long as this is postponed. With great difficulty, everything fell into place.
Such a seemingly simple process was turned into a whole epic. We continue.
It's time to prepare the glazing, for this we use the standard cut masks, the data in the set, plus we add also the paint tape on the reverse side so that it does not stain and forward.
As long as the paint dries, let's try to pick out the bark on the body. For this, it is necessary to dilute the black paint to the state of water, so it will be better distributed. Well, at least there are no problems. The glass was painted very well, the outline is highlighted normally. And along the way, dimensions were prepared.
Undercarriage, bottom.
And, finally, I got to the stage that I was putting off and which I was most afraid of - the assembly of brake discs from photo etching. For the first time I assembled a piece entirely composed of photo etching, and it seemed to be working out well, not without jambs of course, but then I sorted out the assembly technology and assembled the other three disks.
Next comes the processing of the skins of the bottom and the coloring in matt black. In parallel with the bottom was painted and the grille of the same color.
Next, I allocated an evening for the assembly of small body parts and gluing elements of photo etching. Everything went like clockwork, and I even ventured to collect here such a tiny detail - it's the key to the car.
And in principle, almost everything is ready for assembly, but there are still a couple of flaws. First, you need to somehow attach the seat belts to the part of the car that is given by the transparent part. And even though I painted it in black, it does not solve the problem. After all, glues, whatever it goes through the paint and reach the original surface, I have enough unsuccessful experiments with gluing details to transparent details. This time I ventured to use cyanoacrylate glue, the one that I glued the brake discs to, it goes like a gel and very well grasps the details. I think if it drips quite a bit and can slip. And in general it worked, almost. It got stuck all right, but one metal part went away, taking with it the paint, but it's good that not all and when I planted it back on the other side there was practically nothing noticeable.
Secondly, you need to think about how to make sure that these same belts do not fall off during the process of connecting the saloon and the body and how to attach them to the salon. But in general, the connection went smoothly.
Thirdly, and this is a separate topic, it was necessary to highlight the seals on the doors with black color. It seems that this should not have been a problem, everything is as usual covered with a masking tape that part that should not be painted and painted in two layers.
And in general, almost everything is ready for the final part of the assembly.
In general, December 30 was appointed as Day X. I collected all the details that were not glued to the heap, a couple of days before day X I stuck the lights and dimensions, and one evening was allocated exclusively for painting the inside of the bonnet, it should be two-color , and I did not risk with tape and painted everything by hand. I connected both parts of the model.
The doors were assembled and put in place, since there are not so many seats on the shelf, I decided to leave only one door open for compactness. And here are the new wheels pulled up, so we remove the old ones and put these Novitec Rosso.
In general, everything is ready.
So, what we have in the end, the model turned out quite well, could not have done without jambs, but they do not affect the appearance in any way. Everything took about a month and a half. Thank you all for attention, I hope it was interesting.
Many thanks to those who read the post until the end and was happy with me for the result.
This is really awesome! Great job.
Thanks bro!
