1. Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn
Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn is a Dutch painter who is one of the greatest painters in the history of European art. He was born in the Leiden city, Netherlands July 15, 1606. Rembrandt is known for his expertise of manipulating the exposure of light to objects so as to give a certain effect in the painting.
Rembrandt also often makes graphic works and drawings. His great contribution to art occurred in the golden era of the Netherlands (around the 17th century). Some of his famous works are Danaë, Jacob The Ghein III, Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp, Belshazzar's Feast, and Night Watch.
2. Pieter Pauwel (Peter Paul) Rubens
Pieter Pauwel (Peter Paul) Rubens is a painter born on June 28, 1577 in Siegen, Nassau-Dillenburg, Holy Roman Empire (now North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). Many people regard him as one of the most famous Flem and European painters of the 17th century. He painted Baroque style. Many of his paintings have a touch of sensual, some of which are considered erotic. Rubens specialized in making altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. Some of his works are Cimon And Pero, Roman Charity, Massacre of the innocents, and The Garden of Love.
3. Jan Van Eyck
Jan Van Eyck is an active Flemish painter in Bruges and is considered one of the best Northern European painters of the 15th century. He was born in 1390 and died on July 9, 1441. Some records that still exist from his early life indicate that he was born c. 1380-1390, most likely at Maaseik. Some of his famous works are Arnolfini Portrait, Ghent Altarpiece, Madonna of Chancellor Rolin, and Madonna In The Church.
4. Claude Monet
Claude Monet also known as Oscar-Claude Monet or Claude Oscar Monet (born in Paris, November 14, 1840 - died in Giverny, December 5, 1926 at the age of 86 years) is a French painter with a impressionism genre. His paintings Impression, soleil levant, (Impression, Sunrise) are the origin of naming names of impressionism genre.
Monet was born from the Adolphe and Louise-Justine Monet couples at 45 Rue Laffitte. Early April 1851 Monet entered Le Havre school. He was soon famous for his carchoal caricatures, which were often displayed and sold for 10 to 12 francs. He died of cataracts on December 5, 1926 at the age of 86 and was buried in the Giverny church cemetery. Examples of Claude Monet's works are Bain à la Grenouillère, Woman with a Parasol Madame Monet and Her Son, Bords de la Seine à Argenteuil, Luncheon on the Grass, and Regatta at Sainte-Adresse.
5. J. M. W. Turner
Joseph Mallord William Turner is a British Romantic landscape painter, a renaissance watercolourist. He was born on May 14, 1775 and died on December 19, 1851. Turner is considered a controversial figure in his day, but is now regarded as a high-landscape artist painting the rivaling of the eminence of historical painting. Although renowned for his oil paintings, Turner is also one of the greatest teachers watercolor English landscape painting. He is known as the "painter of light" and his works are regarded as an introduction to Romantic impressionism. Some of his works are The Fighting Temeraire, Rain, Steam and Speed - The Great Western Railway, Snow Storm: Steam-Boat off a Harbor's Mouth, Fishermen at Sea, and Snow Storm: Hannibal and his Army Crossing the Alps.
