Raven. Which bird will be next?

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Scientists believe that a raven is an intelligent bird. And still, people often keep a crow at home as a pet. If you take the baby of a raven and raise it, the raven will only recognize its master.

I use the watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": violet, Prussian blue, white zinc. Black ink. Paper Palazzo 280g / m2, 70% cotton.

I begin to draw from the silhouette of a bird. I do not have a bit of a tail on a piece of paper, but I decide to leave it as it is.

I dial a violet paint with a lot of water on the palette and fill in the silhouette of the raven. I take the black ink and brush the spots and stripes on the body of the bird. I add blue and violet paint to the wings and the tail of the raven. Again I take black ink and add more colors. I sprinkle with a fine salt picture. I mix blue watercolor and black ink and make a branch on which the raven sit.

My watercolor has not dried up yet, so I can add a little black ink to the bird's beak and head, a little to numb the neck and the wing. I paint the paws, feathers, and outline the eyes of the raven. I take a dryer and dry work.

Now I turn to the details: with white zinc I draw a glare on the beak and eye of the raven. I add light feathers under the beak and on the head. I draw a clear outline of the wings of black ink. I mix all the paint that I have on the palette, and sign the work.

Thank you for watching!

WoW excellent information and a great picture. I really appreciate the difficulty of making a watery paint! your technique is strong and you are very successful. I was lucky to come across to their profile. I studied the work and I fainted!
me, I have an acrylic drawing. maybe you want to look. comment is valuable to me :)

ooh the raven is my favorite:)

What a beautiful rendition of the Raven. And the description and how you did it makes it all the better.

Thanks for a great look at an artist at work.

I recently watched a Tedtalk about ravens, parrots, dolphins and apes being most intelligent species besides humans.

How long does it take for you to draw such drawing?

I love the colours in his feathers! you totally nailed the natural iridescence.
