Fairies WildLife 3 - Advanced Position Scout (UniverseBuilding)

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Hi Everybody !

Very silent, really fast.

(All the images are my own creation and so I own the rights of them)

The scout's purpose is to assure the advanced locations for military purposes and sound the warcry in case of confrontation.

This is part of the universe of fairies I am building, probably will start designing some structures soon,
like tree-houses or even in more rad places such as cliffs and badass valleys...

...actually this is fucking awesome idea!! This is why I enjoy so much sharing all this with you guys, doing it gives me so many more ideas and I just want to share and share and share !!

This is also the second part of a previous post where I show you guys how to make a good approach to a new topic for drawing and how to warmup!

I also want to start doing something different...

...I want to start sharing with you also the references that I took mostly from Pinterest(source), so you can start understanding the approach that I have and what occurs in my mind at the moment of design.

Honestly, designing is the most important thing that an artist needs to do and know, but why?

It's easy, design is not only about making a nice dress, it is also about making a good composition, a good order of shapes and good readability of the silhouettes over there. It also has a relationship in the way that you use the values, which is a critical thing for readability !

Maybe I should do a post explaining this a little bit further even tho' I am not an expert on the subject

I also made a process for this one since the scratch, so you can see that I am not hiding anything, follow these steps and you should be able to do something like this =)

Oh, by the way... This is another practice of speed painting, but kinda failed... I gotta try again because it took me like 2-3 hours to finish

Thanks a lot for your support and I see you in the next one!

I always try to listen to the ideas of my fellow followers to improve my posts and to give something back to the community... therefor: What would you like the next posts to be about? What should I talk about? What kind of painting? Would you like some tutorials about arts, about cooking? Maybe some fresh gamming broadcast? I would love to know!

Bye!

Sort:

Artist in the sense of the word but I wish to add the dark color to your wonderful drawings to attract all

I agree with you, it would look better with some more darker intentions... actually I have a friend who will be designing fairies, but the another faction... the dark ones, kinda demons of the night, we may have a lot of fun from it!

Hi! Is this universe destined to be a game universe or is it a conceptual project?

Hey @uv10 that s a good question!

This is purely a conceptual project for having some sandbox to play with design elements for characters, structures and assets... this is still pretty much on its earliest stages ;)

Speed painting is overrated. You did a fantastic job!

Thanks Cata! And I agree with you... many people choose to be fast instead to be good, I think it is better to first be good (or better) and then to gain some speed, but in general terms I think that both are important.

Mostly in this competitive contemporary world of globalization, internet and fastfood (just kidding with the last one :P)

Yea. You nailed that. I wouldn't have to mention it if there wasn't an influx of people that did them. Even I did them for a while when I was and still am too amateur. But yes, its an important skill for sure. Keep up the good stuff.

Thanks buddy ;)

Awesome post. Appreciating the behind the scenes stuff. Pinterest is surprising great for reference. Use it all the time.

Oh, indeed! it is a great "fire starter" for ideas and gives a lot of great inspiration for whatever the project is =)

Very nice work !

Thank you!
