Your last three drawings show improvement.
If you use a photo for inspiration, do the generals outlines and then put away the photo so that the details are yours (it is the details that give most of the personality to faces). Also, once you put away the photo, close your eyes and try to imagine the face as it "should be", idealised or made stronger or weaker or smoother or rougher...play with it.
I presume you did know that playing with your ideas and images is what often gives birth to creativity?
