In medieval Europe dominated the monumental painting - fresco, mosaic, stained glass. The Renaissance was marked by a coup that influenced the further development of European painting. One of the greatest artists of that time was Michelangelo (1475 – 1564).
The Torment of Saint Anthony
This picture is considered the first picture of Michelangelo, although his authorship is still controversial. The painting was painted about 1487 -1488, when Michelangelo was 12 or 13 years old.

The Last Judgment is a fresco by Michelangelo on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. The artist worked on the fresco four years, from 1537 to 1541.
The Crucifixion of St. Peter
The Crucifixion of St. Peter is a fresco painting in the Vatican's Apostolic Palace, in the Cappella Paolina. The fresco was written in the period 1546-1550, commissioned by Pope Paul III. It’s the last fresco executed by Michelangelo.
Epifania (Michelangelo drawing)
Epifania is Michelangelo Buonarroti's only full-scale drawing that has survived to this day. The drawing was made by Michelangelo at the age of 75-77 years and was repeatedly rewritten.
