My unusual friend Walter and Random Annimated Gif.

Good evening fellow Steemians,
I have been working in the art shed over the past few days...
Mostly I have been working on the "Walter" project...
He is coming along!

My process....

I decided it was about time I added the polymer clay to the armiture I made last autumn..

The best way to make the polymer clay pliable is to break it into small pieces and roll them up into more managable size chunks. Rolling them into warm soft little balls...

I blend the flattened circles so the joins are smooth and the clay is an even layer of thickness all over.

This will become the base that the face will be built onto..

I keep rolling up small balls of clay. Adding more and more material to the surface layer of the head. Focusing on the parts of the face that protrude forwards.

He is really creeping me out at this point!

So I tried building up the facial features a little more and adding pointy ears..
In my mind I want him to be more cute. More hobbit/borrower/elfy like :)

I am still trying to decide whether to buy some bigger eyes and replace these ones???

I worked on Walter lastnight and this morning. Until I had completely run out of clay. I will update you soon when the new clay has arrived :)
I like how he is coming along so far and can't wait to build up his face a bit more and start adding more refined detail to the face too.
But that will have to wait for now....
