yeah totally. get involved in community things like challenges because its a really good way to make friends. If you just start blogging theres a chance your blogs will fall by the wayside so its best to build up a few followers and get chatting to people first! Doodledoodledayeo is a nice little doodle competition run by @opheliafu. Thats a good one.....and the openmic community are totally lovely (follow @luzcypher).... but theres loads of other stuff too if you have the time to explore! :)
