BEASTLY TALES

THE MEXICAN

Jorge Sanchez came from down Mexico way,
The Western Sierra Madre was where he did play.
Chihuahua to be more precise,
An area that was O.K, perhaps even nice,
Jorge was a most serious man,
Of joking he seriously wasn’t a fan.
People used to turn his name, Jorge, around,
And create a new name “gejor” new found,
Pronounced “heehaw”, a donkey’s call,
Jorge was complaining, of this he did appal.

He took to the road with an enchilada,
The going was tough, but his load made it harder,
As he trekked along mountainous road,
And his donkey he did gently goad.
At a stall on the road they had a burrito,
And Jorge had his favourite chorrizo.
They were heading for Ciudad Juarez today,
Where they hoped to have an enjoyable stay.
It is on the Rio Grande on the Mexican side,
Across the river, in the U.S.A, El Paso did abide.

Jorge had often thought about crossing the border,
But he knew that it was against the law's order.
And so in Mexico he did stay,
Around the Ciudad Juarez city limits way.
Jorge found some work that provided money,
So he brought some nachos, but the sauce was runny.
He went to the taverno to have a tequila or two.
These made him hungry so he had a tamale stew.
With tomatillo sauce and Habanero,
Tonight he was a hot shot chilli hero.
So he asked for chopped jalepenos on the side.
With Pasilla, Chipotle, Mulato chillies as well,
On Enchiladas, Tostados and Tacos that smell,
So delicious when taken right out of the oven,
And most of the food is good for you, as has been proven.

Now Jorge began to feel a trifle uneasy,
In fact, his stomach felt decidedly queasy.
He quickly developed “the green apple quickstep”,
Sending him flying to the bathroom without any prep.
Oh, how his stomach did rumble and churn,
His digestive system on fire. How it did burn!
He was also overtaken by the need to puke,
His gastro-intestinal system’s final rebuke.
But his lovely donkey, in his stable quietly lay,
Munching contentedly on non-chilli hay.

As usual you have found some genial rhymes!
But do you also know the Spanish language?
Always very surreal and fun and the lovable donkey with his instincts has much more reasonableness than Jorge! great @beastlybanter greetings from Italy:)))

Thank you. I don't speak Spanish but my wife does.

This part caught my attention,

Now Jorge began to feel a trifle uneasy,
In fact, his stomach felt decidedly queasy.
He quickly developed “the green apple quickstep

The powerful imagery you always adopted in your poem make me feel like you come from another planet. The repetition of some make the poem more lovely. Keep the good work flowing man

Tonight he was a hot shot chilli hero- this is really funny. Everyday I wonder what you will come up with next.
