BEASTLY TALES

THE TUMMY CLOCK

Tic Toc, Tic Toc, Tic Toc,
There it goes, Jimmy’s tummy clock.
“In fact”, Jimmy said, “it is my brain”,
“Telling me to eat again”.
“Lots of chocs, lots of sweets”,
“Lots of other yummy eats”.
“Lots of sweets, lots of chocs”,
“Lots of peanut brittle blocks”.
My Mummy said from her armchair,
“It isn’t nice such talk to share”.
“I know, of food, I should refrain”,
“But my tummy clock says its time to eat again”.
“I know that it’s considered wrong”,
“To gobble food the whole day long”.
“But it is hard to help it, Mummy”,
“With a brain, so controlling my tummy”.
“You vile child,” mummy shouted.
“For so long, you, I have doubted”.
“You are always just so fat”,
“Because you are a greedy brat!”

Jimmy tried again, “Believe me mummy”,
“I am not just a greedy dummy”.
“I do have a special brain”,
“That compels me to eat again”.
“Of you, I’ve had quite enough”.
Jimmy’s mummy said, in a voice quite gruff.
“You’d better go right to your room”,
“Control your eating or your tummy will go Boom!”
Just then, an introduced event,
Saved Jimmy from punishment.
His brain had sent a signal strong,
Flatulence, causing him to emit a pong.
Jimmy looked quite taken aback,
His mummy’s mouth was hanging slack.
“You disgusting boy, you do so wrong”,
“To emit such a disgraceful pong”.
“But mummy, control is not within my means”,
“As I’ve been eating tinned baked beans”.
But Jimmy’s mummy said no more,
She had passed right out, on the floor.

Hi Richard, as always, with a humorous poem, you tell the great human tragedies, the bulimia ... and the request for help for a brain that can not find a solution, the inability of a mother who can not see beyond ... all arranged with a deadly pong !!!
a real bomb !!!

Yes we are all weak vessels.

I love the lyrics of the poem..
“Lots of chocs, lots of sweets”,
“Lots of other yummy eats”.
“Lots of sweets, lots of chocs”,
“Lots of peanut brittle blocks”.
Nice poem ,bravo

I just signed up for steemit and this is the first post i came across...@beastlybanter
The tummy clock, lots of chocs and chews and then a deadly pong...😆😆😆
It was great humour ❤

Thanks, and welcome to steemit.

Was just smiling while reading..
Such a lovely poem with beautiful rhymes and a great moral lesson which says control is very essential to healthy living...
Thank you for this..

Glad you liked it.

Hahaha😂 sometimes I feel like I have a tummy clock, except for the flatulence part.

I didn't imagine you would.

Good poetry @beastlybanter. Funny and sarcastic. No problem. The important thing is, when I want to eat I go to the kitchen, not to the toilet. :-D

Jimmy couldn't help it, he was not in control of the hunger he felt. poor Jimmy, his mother was very negative, critical and judgmental.

Sarcastic but funny prose-poem...❤
As always, We can take valuable lessons from the story in it ...

Thanks for sharing & have a great day, dear @beastlybanter...☕❤

Hahahahahaha, such a wonderful humorous poem, I guess you are a fat 1 @beastlybanter,
