Getting better at painting environments!

in #art5 years ago

Hello my fellow Cryptonians!

Hope you are doing well?

Today I made a Digital Pleinair tutorial for my YT channel, but also wanted to share this with you guys here!

Digital Pleinair painting is actually just doing a photostudy of a landscape.
You practice your values, colors and shapes. A great exercise for getting better at drawing and painting.

So.. if you feel like it - Do one for yourself, and make sure to let me know! I'd love to see where, and how you paint them!

The result of my 32 minute painting session:

Keep working hard!

I'm pretty sure plein air involves actually being outside so wouldn't it be painting landscape from a reference if you can't go outside/to the actual place? ^_^;

I've seen a few people doing stuff like this to be able to paint places they might not otherwise be able to visit in person to paint, seems like a great idea especially if you're not supposed to be going out :D Did you have to search long to find this view? It seemed to take you seconds in the video XD

You did a nice one, love how the road and the sky look :)

Welll.. yeh.. this is like the quarentined version of pleinair painting ;)

I just dropped myself somewhere on a random road, no idea where i would go.. took me about 2 or 3 minutes to find it and paint it :D

Well you do have a good eye so guess it wouldn't take you long to find something interesting to paint XD (or something completely mundane that you then make look interesting because it's a talent XD)

that was so good. i don't remember whose video it was but i learned about the instantstreetview from an art video on youtube. that guy painted a place with some houses.... after that i tried to paint environment but i am very bad at that....
your sky looks so realistic by the way....

Thank you very much! :) Glad you like it! ^^

Ive been using streetview for quite a while for doing these kind of studies :D It's a great and fun way to get around, and find interesting places to paint and 'see' ;D
