introduction:
00; CHPT.01.00 was so nice because there was an amazing little underground atmosphere in that embassy.
01; The evening would take place in the Brazilian Embassy.
We proposed them our idea and the ambassadors assistants were fine with it, we had a perfect space to organise our stuff ...on... Brazilian domain..., I'm so grateful: that meant that if we would go too noisy the cops would basically not even be able to get in our place because we were in another country.. so they needed permission from the Brazilian government if they would want to enter, at least ... that's how Edward Snowden does it too ;).
02;The best part is that the people who helped us in the embassy, became good friends and I love them, they are so openminded, and intelligent, and also.. e very gay - they reminded me of the openminded ravers in Berlin I read about in Danielle De Piciotto's book, the underground kings in suits. I remember how me and Saji were invited to a bachelor party, oh and how they had livestreamed their gay wedding online to the Brazilian population to show equal rights for holebi is really needed..
03; Ivan Schauvliege, a choreographer I've met through a show organised by 20forBrussels.. This person controls his body like nobody else.
I was perplexed by his amazing art installation and movements, it looked so good. The white hands. Ivan was immediately psyched to collaborate onto our events and be part of the intro of the expo evening CHPT01 - his installation was going to be accompanied by Joachim Brackx compositions performed by Europa Ritrova Baroq Orchestra.
04; oh yes did I forget to tell you? The pictures are again taken by my homie-photographer Marnik Boekaerts, talent with lenses.
05; the whole purpose of the first event was going to be about Cinema accompanied by live music. 5 teams collaborated on a live performance for a small audience of 120 people.
06; The room was packed! and so cosy, everybody was sitting on the ground chilling and watching the performances.
On the picture you can see the live performance of Mannequins on 7th Street (Tim de Fontaine and Alexandre Lambrecht) and film by Jan Huysmans. Just too bad we don't see anything of the screen.
07; This is a picture of myself, preparing to show my film; a collab with Lien Moris & Yasmien Pieters.
08; Saji was such a great host. Explaining everything in 3 languages for the audience of Brussels.
09; CHPT01 was so nice because there was an amazing little underground atmosphere in that embassy. I remember many people sitting together, outside some people were discussing about the artworks, the french and dutch communities were merged together. The audience looked cool, and existed of artists and also students who had never seen art performances.
010; I remember the assistent of the ambassador being really mad with me because a little drunk duo who's names i'm not going to mention were having #sex in the embassy and that shouldn't have happened obviously :D, also some people had found their way up to smoke spliffs in the private workers zone and that was not the right environment to do that of course.. :D After all.. he was really happy with what we had done because the first event was a success, the cinema room was full, the people were smiling and I only have good memories about the whole experience.
