Painted on location in Dixon, New Mexico.
”Blossoms in Dixon” 18”x20” (#817) oil on linen canvas
by Lee Gordon Seebach
The apple blossoms were in their full springtime glory when I set up my French easel on a slope near this house. The subtle color notes of the shadow sides of the blossoms made for an interesting challenge: some leaned toward blue, others toward violet, while others were a warm gray. I don't know why but that's how I saw them and that's how I painted them. I'm very happy with how this painting turned out.
We live on a beautiful planet. It is my job to point this out to others by painting what I love in life. I'm honored and delighted to be able to do it.
