Painted on location near Taos, New Mexico.
Painted during the same period as my post yesterday. Again impasto paint was used in a direct painting style.
Ranchers around Taos are very obliging to artists like me. For fence posts, they use branches and logs instead of the standard, consistent fence posts you see elsewhere. Consequently, they are much more interesting.
The yellow bushes are chamisa and the green bushes are sagebrush. Both are very common in the Taos area.
I spent ten years painting around Taos, which is a landscape painter’s paradise.
More to come,

Great painting. I've only seen New Mexico briefly but the scenery there is amazing.
