Painted on location in Idaho. I painted this on the same 1998 trip that I did "Ranch Near Almont, Colorado" from a post on Steemit about a month ago. You might notice a similar style of painting and choice of subject between the two.

Collecting Art
Do you have an art collection? I would like to take an informal poll with my followers to see how many collect art, so please comment below if you have one, or if you don't have one, or why you don't, or whatever you want to say about it.
This is an interesting subject to me of course because I'm a professional and I sell my work to art collectors. Thanks for commenting about this.
I hope you enjoy seeing this oil.
Have an awesomely magnificent day today and every day!

Nice one!
I own 6 original works, not exactly a large collection. One oil, one aquarel, one gouache, a woodcut print, a silk screen print, and a litho. I'm more interested in style than technique, with a slight preference for drawings and graphics (sorry 8-).
That's great! @ocrdu So nice to hear. Thanks for answering.
This is the only painting I own. It was bought for my mother as a gift for her birthday along with five others. She has six children so we decided to buy her one each. They were bought from a group of very talented student artists who arrived at our door one day selling their paintings. We bought the six paintings for a total of £300. When she moved and no longer had room for all six , she decided to give the paintings back to us rather than storing them away where they could not be seen. It is not hanging at the moment as I don't have much space in my own home but I soon hope to be moving to a larger home by necessity, since I have recently had the honor of becoming a father and it is surprising how much space a young baby requires. :)
Please forgive the poor quality photo. My cameraphone is not the best and doesn't do the painting justice!
The artists name is C. Benolt!
Hope your day is going well @chessmonster. :[)
@tonyr Thanks for your answer to my "poll" and the photo. Maybe I'll try selling door-to-door, too! Just kidding.
lovely work! upvoted and followed!
Thank you very much @ilanaakoundi
I love that picture......i've only recently really started to appreciate art more. This piece makes me ant to jump into it. Just lovely!
Keep it up! Maybe even buy a piece of art sometime, now that you're interested more. It's a way to express yourself through discovering your art tastes, adding to your collection, growing as an art collector. I like to think that of the hundreds of paintings I've sold over my long, 45-year career, my collectors live with and enjoy my work every day. They've told me this, in fact. Those artworks are a part of their lives, and the paintings become cherished heirlooms. Thanks for commenting.
No problem...I never really thought about it then had to do an assignment on Paul cezenne and It got me started. I drew a set of tarot cards, just for fun on here if you wanted to look. If i had the time i would love to learn how to paint :-) Your very talented and i'm very envious!
Thanks so much. Many years of hard work and dedication behind every brushstroke. It's like anything else: playing the piano, plumbing, flying an airplane - "practice makes perfect."
Beautiful!
Grew up around art and with parents as art collectors; have been in the art gallery business twice (including currently) and my wife and I have a house full of art.
Great! Thanks for commenting.
Great piece yet again! Also, I'm not sure if I count for having an art collection or not, haha. I own a custom portrait, but the rest of my stuff is kind of odd. I've got a bunch of poster prints, a hand painted metal sign to replicate a video game sign, and a bunch of hand carved coins!
Art is in the eye of the beholder. Or is it, beauty!? Something like that. ha ha
I do not have an art collection. I wish I had the wall space. Lovely painting as always, it makes me want to escape from the city.
Thank you for answering and for the kind comment @vermillionfox I have an art collection myself: drawings, paintings, serigraphs, etchings, watercolors, woodcuts, lithographs, and I forget what else. And they're even by other artists! LOL Then of course there's the HUGE collection of my own unsold work that I wish people would collect! 😉
Once the rooms in my house are repainted I'd like to hang up the artwork that I've collected so far and gather a bunch of art from friends. Are you planning on selling your art here on Steemit? I've seen a few people so it.
I would sell my work for crypto, yes. In fact, I'd prefer it. I let it be known on my website that I accept Dash, which is the other coin I believe in besides Steem. Just how to go about selling for Steem is the question. I'd be interested in learning more about that. I guess it's as easy as transfering Steem from one account to the other, but this being the internet and not knowing who you can trust, I think there would have to be a smart contract involved.
Yeah, I agree with you on the contract. I'm almost positive that @customnature sold one of his paintings here on Steemit.
Today I remembered that on the eSteem app for Android there's a "transfer" feature than includes both "transfer" and "escrow." Do you have that app? If so, you'll see what I believe is a smart contract that uses an escrow agent. Don't ask me how it works, though, 'cause I don't get it! 😂 Maybe there's a tutorial somewhere. It might be a way of selling with Steem and SBD.
Oh, you are WAYYY ahead of me! I don't have the App. I'll probably wait for another relaxed Steemit gathering to ask around about it and it's functions. 🤔 I'll let you know if I hear anything interesting!
I do collect art but it's more like work my friends or local artists have made. I have zero budget but try to buy things when I can. I also have a lot of my Mum's work too.
Thanks for answering @aeryn Just curious... it's nice to hear that you collect art. We artists need you! 😀
Yes. Well I'm also an artist (tho without much experience but I have exhibited some) - so YES.
Wonderful, and good luck with your art.
Ein Traum wiedermal!
Thank you @steemboys
youre welcome and oops that was in german :)
Thats a beautiful piece. It feels great to see fellow painters on Steemit sharing their art. Inspires newbies like me!
I collect my art as i have sold most of it, and mostly made to order. You make good art!
Thanks @errymil
No sir I don't have an art collection. The reason is that my work involves moving from one place to another. I don't have the opportunity to maintain a collection
Thanks for answering @btcunchained Yes, moving art frequently would be a challenge.
Yes sir.. It's a challenge. I am hoping to get rid of this hectic job and find a settling job. Wish I could make steemit a good enough revenue source. I love blogging. Trying to earn a living from that.
No chess i don't have an art collection but you artwork is great man. I support you as always man
@dim753 Thanks for answering and I appreciate the comment.
I like art and i admire people like you. I wish i could be so talented to create such things.
Thank you very much @luckysteem
You've come a long way since that moment in 1998. I'm glad i'm able to observe your works from home with a cup of tea.
Time flies when you're having fun! Thanks.
Good work
Thank you
vote you. wonderful :)
Thank you
I really love your work and if you have interest in offering prints please do let me know. I think it would do well with our clientele! LynxArtCollection.com
