I finally had the courage to complete this piece
It sat around for ages, hinting at it's own potential.
speaking to me through colour and vibration. I knew there was more to the idea, but had to let it happen naturally. not force anything.
sometimes it is so important to step back and let things be - it will provide much more meaning when you come back together and find a conclusion.
The piece is called Dream Caves
Let's take a closer look!
I tried to fill in as much life as possible, while keeping the mysterious quality. This isn't an underground cave, although it appears as such.
It is an internal cave, created by a pondering mind. The natural shapes and beauty that shows up when we allows our minds to just wander.
Maintaining a platform-like gravity. The floor of imagination is where you choose, but some things work better if you are in familiar territory.
I find some abstract pieces are less impactful if they forget certain physical rules. Although the shedding of laws can be liberating for art, there is a subtle structural efficiency in communicating through atleast semi-familiar worlds.
And the crux of the piece, a simple person,
perched on top of what seems like a cliff. Drinking coffee and w(a/o)ndering.
You can buy a print !
it's 12 x 18 in and on high quality poster paper.
This is really beautiful work! I love all the colours and textures :)
