Mechanical Pencil, 11" x 14", 2002
Another work pulled from the archives; this is a pencil drawing from just before I decided to return to undergrad and begin painting in earnest.
This piece was rendered in a smoke filled historic coffee shop in Riverside, near downtown Wichita, Kansas. If i remember correctly I was smoking a bidi cigarette. The social atmosphere was very "Midwest Beatnik".
This drawing stood out at the time as something more completely delicate than a lot of my more intensive psychological images. There is generally less symbolism here than in many of my works; more simplicity really in that it is centric more to a feeling than thought.
Dreamgazer is currently part of a collection near Denver, Colorado.
You got skill man! I used to draw before. Not anymore! :(

This is stunning your use of shading and control are impressive. Up voted 😊
Krystle, thank you for your attention to the work, and for the up vote. And for the smile. :)
I can honestly say that I will be visiting your blog daily my friend. I love your work and appreciate the ability each piece offers to go within and explore further depths of self and consciousness.
Great job and I am SOOO looking forward to more. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
Hugs!
I'll be sure to post new works as I get good captures of them. Since I'm new to Steemit I've been lucky to have some content to post more regularly. I expect it will slow down to some degree as I come more up to date, with new pieces every several months. In the next few years I'm hoping to delve into a more ambitious series--really looking forward to that!
That's great you can utilize the images for psychological reflection--the structures of these works are manifest on the emergence of the mind--often the process is more like archeology--so to a real degree they are built for that purpose. Always good when they can be approached in concert with their nature.
