I discovered something really cool a few days ago. What's more, it is INCREDIBLY fun to use!
I also found that if one were so inclined, one could turn this into a business of sorts.
Here's something else that's really a huge bonus. You can use this Android app to really bolster your social media presence, especially on Instagram. Instagram can be a goldmine in terms of promoting a small business or even if you're just wanting to have some fun. It can also be used to build a following for a website, Facebook groups, or even real support groups.
This app will really help to get your pics more likes and your account more followers. It will happen naturally as well, which is always the best way to grow your social media accounts.
In this article, I'm going to discuss the free app that you'll need for your phone, and then I'm going to talk about a couple of different ways that you can use your cell phone and this free app to start a legitimate wall poster/wall hanging business. You can run this business right out of your home. All you'll need is an Android phone, a computer, internet access, and a small amount of start-up capital. Lastly, I'll talk about how it's helped me to grow my Instagram account, and how it can help you in the same way.
I want to disclose that I have not tried to do anything with this business-wise yet. I've just been using the app and having a ton of fun with it. I do have some great ideas, though, as to how someone with a little ingenuity could turn this into a fun part-time side business. In the future I may seriously consider trying to convert this into a business opportunity.
OK, so let's talk about the app first and what it can do. I'll tell you all about the app, and I'll also show you a comparison "before & after" pic that I've posted on Instagram.
The Prisma App
The name of the app you need is called "Prisma." It's a free Android app and you can get it right from the Google Play Store, which you should be able to access right from your phone. You could also access it from your laptop or PC using this link:

Once you download and install the app, it's easy to begin using it. Actually, it's pretty self-explanatory.
You open the app, select the photo you want to work with, and apply one of the more than 3 dozen filters available in Prisma. Each filter will change your photo into a gorgeous work of art! Some of the filters work better for different photos, so you'll have to play around a bit and find the best filter for your image.

The images you can create are truly beautiful works of art. If you are a really creative person, you can create images that you'd absolutely be proud to blow up and hang in your living room!

Isn't that cool? And that's only one of the more than 36 filter styles available on the app!
I have done several others, and I am finding that my Instagram submissions are getting a lot more likes and comments, and as a result, I am getting more followers than ever.
You can also share these images on Facebook, although I have not done that yet. I'm sure that you would get an equally positive reaction.
So, we've covered the app and how you can use it to grow your Instagram followers, but what about those business opportunities? Well, read on to find out!
Turning This Into A Business
So, you must be wondering just what kind of a business you could turn this into. Actually, there are a few options, but I'm only going to cover the "online business" option that you can do right from the comfort of your own home.
If you have a decent camera in your phone, you can take some pretty nice pics.
When you combine the power of the Prisma app with your phone's camera, you can create some outstanding modern artwork.
This artwork is so good, that you can turn your edited images into posters and/or canvas prints and sell them on sites like eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, AliBaba, and many others!
That's right! What's even cooler is that there is a pretty good profit margin on these posters!
So, it's pretty simple. I'll break it down into steps for you.
STEP 1: Capture a phenomenal image that you think would make a gorgeous poster or canvas. I recommend sticking with posters to start off.
STEP 2: Use the Prisma app to turn your image into a beautiful work of art.
STEP 3: Get your final work of art turned into a poster or canvas.
Turning Your Image Into A Poster or Canvas
There are many online services you can use to turn your artwork into a poster or canvas. You can pick from many different sizes, and if you want just one for yourself you have that option as well. If you want to sell them, you can have any number of them printed up on different size and quality poster paper.
I have found a really great company where you can get ONE-HUNDRED 18" by 24" posters printed for just $99 plus about $17 shipping. That is just $116 for 100 prints, or about $1.16 EACH!
Depending on how good your artwork is, I would imagine that you could easily get at least $8-$10 per poster. This is a pretty good profit margin.
I didn't do very extensive research as far as online printing companies go, but the cheapest I could find in my short search was a company called Chilli Printing.
If you are looking to just have a one or two made, you could try Vistaprint. They are a little pricier, but they are an established company with a great reputation.
If you want to really step it up and go all out, you can even commit your image art to canvas. The most popular site to do this is called CanvasPop
I would not recommend using canvas if you want to get into business doing this, because it's quite pricy and I don't think there is enough of a profit margin to make it a successful venture. Again, though, that all depends on the talent and eye of the photographer. You just might happen to catch the most incredible shot of your life one day and decide to commit it to canvas!
Selling Your Posters
I think the best way to sell your posters is through online outlets, such as eBay, Amazon, AliBaba, and Craigslist. You can even sell your posters through online freelancer sites like Fiverr. However, there are many other ways to move your goods, and it doesn't always have to be online. You can set up at yard sales, flea markets, thrift & consignment stores, church fairs, and other outdoor and indoor markets. In that regard, your imagination and your sales skills will come in very handy.
Conclusion
Right now, I'm all about having fun with the app and using it to build my Instagram account. In the future, though, I may consider starting a small business and giving it a shot. I would get a phone with a much better camera and maybe study up on photography a bit before I decided to try my hand at a business, though.

Great find, Chris. Another place you could sell the posters - and sell them as digital downloads - is Etsy. People do buy poster prints on Etsy as digital downloads. Etsy even allows you to post that you accept Bitcoin for payment. Upvoted, resteemed and shared. :)
Thanks Joan. I never thought of Etsy. Thanks for adding that. I bet there is a lot of potential to turn this into a small side business if you are willing to do the research and find out how to get the lowest price on printing, packaging, etc, and find the best medium for selling. I would imagine you could get a lot of free exposure just sharing your posters on Instagram and Facebook. What I like is that it's a physical item that you can sell offline as well. You could probably make a few bucks just offering the service to friends and family.
