Entry for Jenny’s Art Contest Week #13

BE NATURAL, BE YOURSELF!
This could be the title of my entry for a contest hosted by @topkpop the theme of which is “Natural”. To my mind, the girl on the picture looks like a kind of a person free from any prejudices and she enjoys her way of life which seems natural to me.

Here’s the process:

— Sketching the face:

— Shading, highlighting details:

— Drawing the body. The light falls from the right, so the left part of the picture is gonna be in the shadow:

— Getting back to her head – hair, glasses, some other minor details:

— Drawing glasses. I decided to use a black liner for glasses, still not sure if it was a right decision... Some more details:

I love it! "Be natural, be yourself" honestly that title and this drawing could be a pretty awesome ad campaign I think. You really captured that feeling. I want to tell you that one of the first things that drew me in was the black marker on the glasses, I think that was a great call.

The quality of this drawing is excellent, let me tell you. Even though the borders of the hair are very round, as if it were another kind of mass and not a bush of threads, the solidity in itself is a kind of aesthetics uncommon to beginner's drawings. The precision with which you drew, the lines, so symmetrical. I admire your technique and the theme you chose. I hope you keep it on.

I like your style, there is something, order out of chaos about it. I hope that makes sense. For the sunglasses I would have skipped the black marker. I think that it should have been done by using the cross hatching technique. Perhaps too strong with a marker but only a little bit too strong.
