We have this amazing place in DC which opened in June of this year and everyone is going just crazy … Artechouse is hard to describe, it’s an experience, unforgettable and unique. It’s a place of incredible installations, sensors which react with your movements and magic just happens in front of you. It’s a place where you can experience technology, art, music, science combined in one and brought to life. It’s an interactive digital art gallery.
In autumn we had this exhibit/installation called “Spirit of Autumn” – beautifully colored! 360 view of digital forest with orange, red, brown leaves moving from one wall to another. Some parts of the walls have sensors and if you start clapping you can hear thunder, see the lightning and then the rain, like in real forest. What a fun experience!
I made a quick video of Spirit of Autumn installation. Please enjoy, it’s only couple of seconds.
There was one more room in a gallery where you can create your own design of the fall leaf, color it with different colors then place it in a special box, wait for 5mins and it will appear in a main installation wall.
Another video of creating a digital leaf.
In November Artechouse presents you a new installation “Kingdom of Colors”. We visited it couple days ago and it’s just amazing! I liked it even more than “Spirit of Autumn” because it makes you dream like never. Idea came from French filmmaker Thomas Blanchard and artist Oilhack. You probably saw couple commercials for the iPhone X, with the colorful liquids, so the creator is Thomas Blanchard! And his work is in DC! He uses mix of oil, paint, liquid sparkles, liquid soap and creates ocean of wonderful colors and shapes, with help of micro lenses.
Here I accidently recorded kissing couple… Real art can bring you butterflies… So cute 💗💗💗
In December we are expecting new installation “Imaginary World of the Nutcracker”, where the main characters and magical kingdom will come to life.
If you are going to be in DC, make sure to purchase tickets in advance since they get sold out very quickly. Visit Artechouse website.
