Great contest idea...and I would love to participate...but you halted me at the judging portion. Allowing the votes to decide the winner creates unfair advantages for newer minnows who don't have lots of friends to come and vote for them...and allows bias and popularity contests to take over. Community voting for the winner becomes more about the person than the actual art. And besides someone entering on the first day will have more time to accumulate votes...compared to someone entering the second or last day. Guest judges are the way to go...ones that will remain neutral...or you can just judge it yourself...it's your contest after all. Best wishes!

First if all, thank you very much for your opinion on this contest! :D Since it's the first contest I'm hosting, I'm happy about every suggestion, critic or opinion.
For the judging:
The judging doesn't depend on votes directly.
On Fridays I will choose my personal top3 out of all entries.
I am not choosing them by popularity or skill because, like already said in the post, this contest is open for artists of any level, background and drawing style.
Also I will for sure support newer minnows with upvotes and resteems during he whole contest. ;)
After that I will make a post containing these top3 entries and I will give the community the possibility to vote for their favorite out of these three.
To vote for the winners, people must manually type the name of their favorite artist in the comment-section of the top3 post.
Upvotes on the posts or comments will not be counted. And to help prevent bot voting, votes from inactive accounts will not be counted.
The reason behind this is, that I want the community to get involved. :) And I think that's a good opportunity for newer minnows to get recognized and make new friends by commenting and upvoting other entries.
But this judging model is not carved in stone. ;)
I will have a look how the first week is turning out.
If I recognize such disadvantages for newer minnows, I will change the judging process because I want the contest to be fair and fun for every participant.
And as you can see in the post, I'm already looking for guest judges. :)
So maybe you decide to join nevertheless and give this contest a chance. I would be happy to see an entry from you!
That sounds great! Those are just some observations of mine...but I am glad to see you are aware of...and active in making sure the judging model will be fair. Thank you for looking at my concerns...and with clarification...I completely understand where you are coming from! I do hope to find the time to enter this week. I have been doodling a lot lately. :D
