The Structure of a Continuum – 24

in #art6 years ago

The composition shown here has two five crossing knots combined together with two four crossing knots and four three crossing knots taking up eight modules of a nine module square to make the next work in this systemic art.

This is a unique knot recognized by the meaning it conveys to the value of modules 274, 275, 276, 277, 278, 279, 280 and 281 in the Cryptoknot protocol. These numbers are strictly used to digitally identify the place the art's systemic sequence falls within the mechanics of the knot blockchain. But numbers, and the derivation of their value, is how the logic of this art is translated into what is recognized as Non-Fungible Tokens.
To be “non-fungible” something has to have actual scarcity – the feeling there is nothing else like it in existence. The art here uses the structure of the knot as the essence of this. It is a provenance-based concept. It creates non-fungible, immutable, totally unchangeable entities along the lines of cryptographic code that identifies the block concept of blockchain technology. Like a block, each art work is virtually created and codified through consensus, and expresses a function relative to an origin, a Genesis Block, but with the difference that, as a design for an actual object, the knot is measuring systemic reality as a component of a sequential growth pattern, and each is individually capable of creating infinitely different material representations of its unique self. In this, every individual knot is as close to the concept of an autonomous creation as the mind can imagine.

Also, since the experiment in the previous post worked so well I thought another piece from my calligrapher heyday in the 1970s may add a little to the back story. When this is viewed from the saved image link it is enlargeable seven times with the attached magnifier... great for Facebook which compresses everything put onto it. The knots here on Steemit, introduced sequentially in the previous posts, initiate the blockchain described in the White Paper of the website http://www.greatknot.com. Everything on the Internet that is about this concept comes together to make up this one single systemic artwork. The concept also includes, but on a more commonly accessible Facebook page, the Woodstock '94, and other collectible, items that materially explain the concept of non-fungible identity in physical form.
