Hey fellow steemians,
today I wanted to share with you my making-of photos of my painting "the forest".
It was a few years ago, when I didn't feel so good. I went for a walk in the woods, and suddenly this idea came to my mind. Nature has a healing power when you feel sad or lost. Immediatly I went home and soon started to paint this piece.
I have to say I'm obsessed with long beautiful hair, and also with nature.
Here I started with the acrylics, first the background in a very dark green colour:
To get very straight lines for the hanging plants, I used washi tape to mask the area around them.
I continued with blocking the colour.
Here you can see again how I used washi tape for masking and straight lines:
Getting closer to finishing ...
A closer look at her face. I wanted her to look calm and relaxed, but also curious.
Nearly finished:
The finished painting:

Thank you so much. :) I wanted to capture nature's beauty, but in an abstract way.
Love art I have done some just for passion. I am not an artist but love it. Nice arts @darklightillu

Amazing work @darklightillu. Acrylics can be used in thin layers like watercolors, or in thicker, more opaque applications of paint, like oil paint. Acrylics dry quickly and can be diluted and cleaned with water, making them simple to use, odorless, and accessible to all.
You have beautifully shown different steps of painting in your post.
Definitely its a great art that requires different skills as choosing a brush, palette, and canvas. Altering acrylic paint with water and other mediums, Blocking in and underpainting, Adding glazes, Choosing pigments, Understanding basic color theory, Creating texture and so on.
Just following you to see some more great posts.
